I love teaching and I am in my 16th year in first grade. I LOVE sharing ideas with others. I hope this blog will bring lots of opportunities to do just that!
So sorry for your loss Kristin! Sydney was the luckiest dog around because she got to live a long wonderfully happy life with a family who loved her so much. She is now able to live pain free and smile down on you each and every day. You have many years of happy moments to treasure!
Kristin, I am so sorry about Sydney. There are no words I can say to ease your pain. Just know that I am thinking about you and your family, and sending my heartfelt condolences.
Kristin, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved pet is so very painful. May she run free and and happy at the Rainbow Bridge until you meet again.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I never realized the love of a pet until I was an adult and I know you must be hurting. I'll never forget your HILARIOUS story of when a family member came to visit! Hang in there! I am thinking about you!
I am so sorry! I know exactly how you are feeling right now. We lost of beloved ShihTzu on New Year's day. It is so hard when they leave us because they are so much a part of the family! I always thought I knew how people felt when they lost their pets until we lost Snickers! It looks like Snickers and Sydney were close in age. Snickers would have been 13 in April. I know you are heartbroken right now but know (from someone who recently experienced it)it does get better with time. Take care!! I am thinking of you! tjulch@mpsomaha.org
When I saw the title for the post, I just thought....."oh no". I often feel that my dog is an angel that was somehow sent to me - he has brought such joy to my life. I'm sure that is how you must think of Sydney.
So sorry for the loss of your angel- Jane Learning in the Little Apple
I am so sorry for you. You could tell through your blog how much you loved Sydney and how he was your child. We lost both of our dogs within 6 months of each other and last summer was awful. Over winter break we brought home a new puppy and it has made my heart start to feel full again. But while he is keeping me busy he certainly doesn't fill his big sisters paws. Please know I am hoping your heart heals.
I am so sorry...=( Losing a pet-child is one of the hardest things I have ever been through. We just lost one last month. I am just starting (now) to think of her and smile instead of crying. Sending you lots of hugs...and knowing she's at peace in doggy heaven. Samantha
Oh, My Sweet Friend: Sydney was a big part of your life--and also a big part of your blog... Teeny Tiny Teacher with the Not-So-Tiny Dog... But I know one thing for sure: You went out of your way in big and small ways to spend extra quality time with Sydney and to care for that sweet doggie with armloads of love. (And I really believe that Sydney always appreciated the royal treatment. I can picture her running around heaven, with that "smiley" look that she had--even when she was sleeping. Hugs sent your way, Dear Kristin...
I'm so sorry! You guys were meant to be Sydney's owners, and I know she loved you very much. Your house might feel empty now, but all of the love is still there. Big hugs.
So, so, so sorry for your loss... I've been there twice in the last year; I know how hard it is! She is over the Rainbow Bridge, running and smiley and happy!
My heart breaks for you. We lost our yellow lab a little over a year ago and I still miss him. With time you heart will heal and will be filled with all the sweet memories of Sydney's life with you.
I have been wondering about Sydney lately. So sorry about your loss, and am glad your dog's suffering is over. Celebrate all the LOVE you shared! Mrs. Bremer’s Kindergarten
I am so sorry Kristin for your loss of Sydney - He will meet you at Rainbow Ridge one day. May he rest in peace and may your heart forever hold the precious memories. (((Hugs))) Randy Sue McKeever
What a horrible day. I'm so sorry. I can feel your pain. We had to put our dog down last year and it was awful. She was sick, too, but it still hurts. I know she's happier now, being able to run as fast as she wants and eat as much as she wants. :) Think of all your good memories as much as you can. JennyB

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing the loss of a family member. May your baby rest in peace.
I'm so sorry to hear about your fur baby. I am sending prayers to heal your broken heart. I only have fur babies as well, and I know your pain! God Bless!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Dear Kristin, Im sorry that I've been enjoying your wonderful blog, for months, and have never commented to let you know how much I love reading it! Along with your motivating and inspirational ideas, its the "real-life" - "hold-no-punches"- hilarious stories that keep me coming back for more! There have been times when I've , literally, been sitting in front of my computer,(reading your posts) and laughing out loud so much that my family came running in to see what in the world "mom was laughing at????!!!" Today, tears replace the laughter. I am so, so sorry. Anyone who has ever had a dog to love understands how very sad it is to say good-bye. I know Sydney was your constant companion and your joy. I know your heart is broken. I am praying for you. I've attached a poem about Rainbow Bridge. My wish is that it offers a glimmer of hope and peace in the midst of the tears. God Bless Sydney.

I am so sorry for the loss of your family member because our dogs are family. We had to do that with 2 golden receivers within 2 years of each other and it broke our hearts so I know how you are feeling. We had to make that difficult decision but knew they were suffering and that broke our hearts even more.
Oh, Honey, I'm so sorry. Think about the happy times and how lucky you were to have Sydney with you so long. Big Hugs, Corinna Teaching Fabulous Firsties!
I'll be thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. I just had to put down my baby on January 4th of this year. Its a heartbreaking time, but know that they are now pain free and joining more "fur"ends on the other side of the rainbow bridge :)
I am SO sorry for your loss. My precious Dumplin' has been in heaven for a few years now, and it still hurts when you hear others who lose theirs. I am praying for you and sending hugs...
Only those who love a dog know how heartbreaking it is to lose them and their unconditional love. I lost my beautiful shepherd on January 26th many years ago. I still miss her. My thoughts are with you.

My condolences to you. There are no words of comfort that will help you through this but many of us have been where you are with the loss of this special one. Peace be with you.
My heart goes out to you! I lost my yorkie two years ago and I literally had to take a week vacation (it was during the summer) to my Mom's house because it was just too hard...... It will heal in time. Sydney was well-loved and one day y'all will be together again!! My thoughts and prayers extend to you and your husband in this hard time!!!
I am truly sorry for your loss. Dogs are such special creatures and play such an important part in our lives. Erika mentioned the book "Dog Heaven"...it helped me greatly.
Oh I am so so sorry for the loss of your dog! My heart goes out to you! I lost my bassett hound Molly, last year. Dogs become so much a part of your family. My dog was was baby. I have another one and she missed Molly too. It surprised me to learn that dogs grieve too. I hope you feel better soon. Have you read the poem Rainbow Bridge? It is about dogs in heaven. Helped me a lot, that and having her paw print in clay.
When I saw the title of your post on my blog roll, my heart broke and my eyes filled up with tears. When I saw the pictures of Sydney, I lost it. You have been on my heart and in my prayers. I talked about you and losing Sydney to my kitty and bunny. They were sad too! I know Sydney was more than a fur baby but I know you are also happy to not see her suffering. We all fell in love with Sydney through your blog...thank you for letting us get to know such a blessing.
Just couldn't let another day go by without saying how sorry I am for your loss of your sweet Sydney. My partner and work-bestie and I always read your blog and laugh our butts off sharing your hilarious stories. WE love your stories about Sydney and will miss those dearly. Please know that I have my own sweet baby girl at home (my doggie) and she's pretty much the boss here so....needless to say, I know doggie love and my heart aches for you. I will pray for you and know in my heart that your sweet Sydney is playing and getting in to all sorts of mischief in doggie heaven. Love from Spokane Washington:)
I am days behind and just saw your post...I am truly sorry for your loss. I understand your sadness...a four-legged baby is still a baby...let your sweet, happy memories of Sydney comfort you, along with knowing you guys gave her a good life. Hugs from Atlanta-

Poem for Dog Lovers
ReplyDeleteHello. I've been expecting you for quite some time.
Here, come sit beside us for awhile .
and let me tell you about this old friend of mine.
She might look tattered or maybe old
But I won't say goodbye until you've been told.
She had the brightest eyes I had ever seen,
And wore a beautiful fur coat that would out shine a queen .
She was never prissy but walked with an aire ......
And oh so polite, you could take her most anywhere.
She could run like the wind and could catch anything she chased
But she protected and sat with me when I had problems to face.
You could not find a friend nearly so dear.
Because no matter the trouble she always stayed near...
She has never asked for much from me;
Just to love and respect her and I think you'll agree .
To give her a good meal plus a nice warm bed is not much to ask ;
When she has given me all her love and to her this was no task.
Now I understand you have a schedule to keep.
But I have a small favor before she nods off to sleep.
Please fold your wings around her and let her feel young while in no pain ;
Dear Guardian Angel of Pets ,
please keep her safe and happy until I see her again.

ReplyDeleteOh friend! I send you love. I wish words could fix the ache.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the loss of your family member because our dogs are family. We had to do that with 2 golden receivers within 2 years of each other and it broke our hearts so I know how you are feeling. We had to make that difficult decision but knew they were suffering and that broke our hearts even more.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a pet.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine the pain you're feeling.
ReplyDeleteI'll say a prayer for you tonight. Sydney won't need one, he is God's special dog.

ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you!

ReplyDeleteSweet Kristin,
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the title of your post on my blog roll, my heart broke and my eyes filled up with tears.
Hugs and prayers,
Heather

ReplyDeleteJust couldn't let another day go by without saying how sorry I am for your loss of your sweet Sydney.
