Finally, right?
All because of ONE director’s chair which turned into three. Go figure.

Another warning: I took the pictures with my hubby’s fancy camera and, as I imported them to iPhoto, I realized each picture was crooked. This is either because the fancy camera is gigantic and I can’t hold it up properly, or it’s because carrying my heavy school bag on my left shoulder has made ME crooked. And yes, I do have one of those nerd carts, but I just don’t want to use it because I think my ten year old Kenneth Cole school bag is way cooler. Plus, it goes better with the Mini. And I don’t have to put the back seats down in order to transport it.
Half the time, I think I should just use the Mini as my rolling cart and pull it to class with a rope.
Let’s get on with it, shall we?
These are new cubby liners.
I usually just stick a 2×4 label on the liner.
I usually just do blue.
This took a little longer, but I like it.
And I make time for the little things, don’t ya know.
(I purposefully made the pic on the right crooked.
I am not currently suffering from vertigo and you
hate to break it to me.)
At the beginning of the year, I fill these up with books
from our class library, as well as blank half sheets of paper.
Eventually, the class library books are returned and
all of my read alouds go in the book baskets. I pull a stick
after reading the book and whoever it is gets to take it to
their table for THE WHOLE DAY. You’d think it was
real money the way they hoop and holler on about it.

But I resisted when they tried to come and take me away.
I am loving my library.
It makes me so happy.
I made the flags ALL BY MYSELF.
The pom poms are from Walmart. $1.48
And I painted those frames.
They were 99 cents at Michael’s.
I made the flower and READ and SHHH sign to insert.
EASY!
Hubs painted my old stools. But I used the drill to take
the seats off, thankyouverymuch.
I really think Mother Bear needs to cross her legs.
I am uncomfortable.
Modesty is a virtue, right?
I mean, really, Mother Bear.
I usually call this table the Teacher Table.
Or the Back Table.
Or the Table in the Corner.
Or the Round Table (which is not accurate)
Now I call it THE BLUE TABLE.
For obvious reasons.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE STOOLS!
Six chairs never fit properly and these stools work wonderfully.
Hubby painted these, too.
I just had to use Miss Kindergarten’s craftivity again.
And it’s still free!
I ADORE IT.
And her.
The other half of is supposed to be my Reading Center.
Except that’s a work in progress.
I didn’t know if you could tell.
And I need more lime green baskets. That would help.
I have a million and one tubs. None of them are lime.
So I didn’t take a picture.
But my kids are working on Fishing and a
Sight Word game for Centers.
Even it’s not cute, we still use it.
I might get the shakes, but we still use it.
I have no clue why the Fancy Camera made this picture so dark.
I know it wasn’t me.
I love my writing center, too!!!!
I have yet to call Really Good Stuff.
That’s not the center I ordered.
But I actually LOVE it.
And I’m not giving it back.
So there’s no love lost.
This year, I’m excited to be using Lori’s
Lori has A TON of other stuff that I want, too.
So far, my class has been labeling up a storm,
and we just recently learned that We Can Write a List!
I’m also happy to be using Lyndsey’s
I have Lyndsey’s Daily Five posters hanging
in my class library and it wasn’t until this very
second that I realized I didn’t take a picture of them.
GRRRRRRRRRR. They are hanging on the back of
my rolling cart above the bookshelf that says SHHHH.
Lyndsey has AMAZING resources in her shop and
I am still shopping for more.

I have always had crayon canisters to organize my crayons.
But they were just plain construction paper.
This new idea is absolutely adorable and do-able.
It’s scrapbook paper. I laminated it.
I had to eat A LOT of generic brand soup because
I went with smaller sized cans this time around.
Okay, maybe I didn’t eat all of the soup.
Maybe this was another case of tuna cans.
I’m not saying one way or the other.
I made those flags ON MY OWN, too.
And then I made a set for about every close friend
in my school. In the color combination of their choice.
I get better each time.
I learned how to Tile my polka dots and chevron.
So I ended up making my own flags 3 times.
There is nothing wrong with that.
**I had to blur out some important info on
those sheets. As well as some human beings
that I did not have permission to show.**
And that’s that.
The classroom.
Still the same. But a little bit different.
Our secretary hinted that we needed to take down the stuff that’s hanging because, apparently, the alarm went off in another building. I chose to misunderstand the hint. I think I really DO misunderstand the hint. How can the stuff hanging in MY room set off the alarm in another room clear across campus?
If, in fact, I am told to take my pom poms and table numbers down, then I will have you know that I will take them down each night and put them back up each morning. This is me, people.

Oh, I love your lime and blue… it's like a breath of fresh air! 🙂 Adorable. I have to laugh about the hanging things… we are NOT allowed to have ANYTHING within 2 feet of the ceiling. Fire Marshal rules and our school gets mega fined if we break them. And you don't want to be the one breaking the Fire Marshal's rules and costing the district a bunch o money, right? Yeah. Me neither. So bummer on that. 🙂

I just love your room! The colors are my favorite so of course I am biased. I think the flowers in your windows are my favorite. They add such a cheery touch! Your bulletin board with Hadar's craftivity makes me queezy. The craft is adorable, but the number of kids you have is insane! So many firsties! First grade where I am has in the mid to high teens. Yikes! That bear just kills me! I will never be able to look at it the same way again! No bears on bulletin boards for me ever!

Gorgeous, colorful and fun! I am with you regarding the hanging things. I'd never take down my huge butterflies, pompoms, rainbows, etc, etc,…love the way it looks and feels. Plus I'm almost as short as the kiddos so we navigate just fine under all that stuff. Tall people do have some issues…

LOVE YOUR COLORS and your room- and just every single post you post. Oh my gosh I actually did LOL when I read your comment about mama bear. SO funny. I don't blame you for taking down/putting up in the morning. Our fire inspector is tough… NO fabric at all. (cause apparently paper doesn't burn but fabric does). AND our janitors took everybody's glitter one year out of closets- because they didn't want us to use it. 🙁 REALLY SAD moment as you can imagine.

Love, Love, Love your room. Our principal reminded us that the fire inspector only comes once a year. I think because he was told to take down some of his stuff that he didn't want to take down…he is kind-of looking the other way at the things we hove hanging from the ceiling.
