Well, hello there.
It is Monday and I am home for the next three weeks AT LEAST because of the Corona Virus. I don’t have it, but you know what I mean.
YOU GUYS! What is going on!?
I’m looking around for the cameras, the sound guy, the microphones, and the director. Because I feel like I’m in a movie. It’s absolutely crazy how quickly life changed this week.
One minute, it was pouring down rain, I was stuck inside with my class, and the next minute I was telling them we weren’t coming back to school for three weeks.
Like what?
Wait.
WAIT! That’s what I said after complaining about the fact that my kids said WAIT all the time!
But seriously. WAIT.
I’m still trying to process what is happening while other people are hoarding toilet paper, cases of water, and all the Top Ramen in all the world.
Friday was the WEIRDEST day ever. I went to school thinking about what I needed to prep for the following week, and then 90 minutes before dismissal, I learned we weren’t returning for AT LEAST three weeks.
At this time, I’m not required to do any distance learning. Our district sent the parents one link that goes to a bunch of different activities, resources, and other links. They also set up daily breakfast and lunch “to go” packs for our students who need it.
So that’s it.
Here I am, at home, feeling pretty well rested and hibernating with the best of them. Steve is really adamant that I stay away from people and public places because of my heart so there you go. I do feel like I was born to hibernate so I’m okay with this, at least right now! Ha!
I’ve also been paying close attention to the teaching community online and it has been absolutely AMAZING. So many teachers are offering free resources, links to apps and websites, schedules, etc etc etc.
I’m just blown away by the teaching community! I was super inspired and wanted to jump on the bandwagon so . . .
FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE!
I created BRAND NEW Listen and Learn activities to be used AT HOME or in the classroom. There are five different activities reviewing English Language Arts and Math. I’m hoping parents or teachers can use one each day, and then I hope to have a second set available for next week.
It’s just a way for me to feel useful and helpful!
Here are some great sites to share with your families and students as they learn at home:
I am hopeful we will all practice social distancing and things will get back to normal sooner that later. I’m praying for everyone!!!!
STAY SAFE!
