Do you love Kohl’s?
I’m hit or miss with Kohl’s.
It’s a hit when I find things I actually like and they have my size. But generally, they do not carry shoes in a size five at Kohl’s and then I leave grumpy.
So it’s mostly a miss.
Unless I find a pretty good bra . . . that’s happened once or twice.
And I know, I know, they have Kohl’s cash and Kohl’s pricing and I do remember buying a T-shirt for about twenty-two cents once so I get it.
I get it, I said.
But the real reason that I love Kohl’s is because of Kohl’s Cares.
I’m sure all of you have heard about this, so I’m only blogging about it for two reasons.
1) In case someone hasn’t heard about it.
2) I have nothing new to say about my life other than I keep waking up in the middle of the night and it is driving me crazy! I haven’t been able to fall back asleep so I’ll read for awhile and then go back to bed a few hours later. It’s driving me crazy because I am a sleeper.
Okay, so Kohl’s Cares is a program where they have certain items for purchase and 100% of the proceeds are given to charity in local communities.
Every year, they always have stuffed animal characters from children’s books! And they are only $5 each!
FIVE DOLLARS EACH, I said!
I’ve been able to purchase the bear from Bear Snores On and Bear Wants More and Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson.
I’ve also been able to purchase the dog from Go, Dog, Go by P.D. Eastman.
And a few others that I can’t recall right now because I’m on summer vacation and all of the animals are at school in my classroom library. And I just don’t remember.
But this week, my teaching partner and BFF, Laurie, texted to tell me that Kohl’s has the stuffed animals that go with all of the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie stories by Laura Joffe Numeroff. You can usually buy the book for $5, too. I didn’t need the books. I own the books.
Obviously.
Right now, Kohl’s has:
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie: mouse
If You Give a Dog a Donut: dog
If You Give a Pig a Pancake: pig
If You Give a Moose a Muffin: moose
And these are not little stuffed animals, either. They are full sized, absolutely adorable, plush and cuddly stuffed animals!

What a cute collection! I stop at kohl's every time I head to the states shopping. I have had great luck with cheap boots! And I love the kohl's cares collection. I have little critter, the grinch and friends, cat in the hat, and skippy Jon Jones. Hope I can scoop these up too! And I fully back your plot idea for a new elephant and piggie book…. it writes itself!
