Happy Saturday!!
What a week! I really thought it would be no big deal going back to work after being off for a week and a half (kinda like returning after Spring Break), but having to talk all.day.every.day was a lot for my jaw. It was so sore by the end of the day that I would come home and have all this stuff I needed to do, but then I would just sit on the couch and not move.
Apparently, when your jaw is sore, your brain and hands don’t work, either. It’s a phenomenon.
I dressed up my TpT store with the help of Ms. Fultz! She has a great tutorial {HERE}and I am telling you if I can do it, you can, too. Really!!
Megan at Mrs. Wheeler’s First Grade Tidbits showed these on Instagram this week . . . and I about died.
LOOK AT THESE!!!
Here is a little Instagram exchange for your viewing pleasure and to outline my excitement about these little gems:
Geesh.
I am such a drama queen.
But sometimes, it pays off! Look at Carson Dellosa tagging me to make sure that I know where to find them.
It’s like I’m practically a celebrity. Remember that time Nordstrom tagged me and wanted to put my picture on their Instagram?
Anyways, if you want those Place Value Windows that are on a 120 chart (120!!!), click {HERE}. You get 30 for $5.99. I ordered a set for each of my teammates and me . . . and now I’m just hoping we don’t have more than 30 kids in our classes next year which means I’m living in a fantasy world of puppies and rainbows and lollipops and I am still a certified LooneyTuneWhackaDoodle.
Oh, Murphie.
We started noticing that she wasn’t feeling good late Monday . . . and by noticing she wasn’t feeling good, I’m talking about her . . . well um. . . her poop and then as the week progressed, she seemed a little down.
By Wednesday night, she just wasn’t herself and then I woke up on Thursday to find out that she was super lethargic and not talking at all.
She always talks. She’s extremely vocal. So much so that most of the time, we’re asking her to be quiet (she only barks on command–I’m talking about how she moos and whines and stuff) and it freaked me out!
We took her to the vet and she had to stay all day with an IV of fluids and antibiotics and then they let us take her home, but we had to promise to bring her back on Friday for another day of IV fluids and antibiotics.
They don’t really know what was wrong, but her blood work came back normal. She just had a lot of bacteria and blood in her poop so they are thinking she probably ate something.
This is Murphie in the back of the car with the cone of shame. She is literally wearing a lampshade because she accidentally turned on the light in the back of the car. See how it’s lit up?
We.died.laughing.
It wasn’t nice. But we did.
As soon as we got home, we took her cone off. Her IV was still in so that all they would have to do was reinsert the lines or whatever the next day which is why they made her wear the cone. But Murphie is smart and only tried about two and a half times to bother the tape before she understood that she wasn’t allowed. And that was that.
Poor girl.
She is feeling much much much better today. She has to eat a bland diet and stay calm for the next few days. It is going to be pure torture for all of us because this girl loves to play.
I feel like horror movie music should be playing while you look at this.
It’s our Art Center. In the middle of Fun Friday yesterday.
Supposedly, the group that was in the Art Center cleaned up and moved on to another center.
I put paper towels down so you could the spillage.
There is always a spillage which is why the Art Center is housed under our sink and always on the tile.
Needless to say, the Art Center is closed next week for Fun Friday. I made a big deliberate show of taking the clothespins off the Fun Friday chart and putting them away.
GRRRRRRRRRR.
I’m working on these right now and I hope to have them in my store by late tomorrow! They feature Murphie and Milo again. When I told my kids I was in the middle of writing more, they cheered loudly and then they tackled me.
So I’m pretty sure my kids will like them.

Bahahaha, the lamp shade!! That is too funny. Hope Murphie feels better soon!

Oh, the cone of shame. Poor pup! Hope your jaw is feeling better!

Oh Murphie!!! So glad she is feeling better. I CAN"T WAIT for the next set!!! (stop reading this and finish them) wink wink ๐
I just order place value cut outs for my team. So awesome. I can't wait to use them! Hugs to your pup:)
Thank you so much for "grrr-ing"! Haha. I closed my block centre on Friday. Grr. Throwing blocks during clean up is not cool. Hope Murphie feels better soon. Enjoy your weekend!
My 2nd grade students will do ANYTHING for your partner plays. Even partner with someone who is NOT their best friend. Magic. You have the power. They love to perform and I love how their fluency has improved this year. So, thank you, thank you!
Ohhhh the cone of SHAME!!! Poor MURPHIE! I love your dog, and I haven't even met her! Poor baby! But I like the way she still smiles even while in the cone. What a good girl!

Poor Murphie…What a sweet dog. I am so glad she is feeling better! Second graders need those place value windows too. It always amazes me how much they still don't understand when they come to second grade, even if they were really good at doing it in first. Place value is so much more abstract than we realize. Okay…one more thing, I LOVE the Reader's Theaters! I plan on picking up a couple during the sale this week.
