Happy Wednesday! Happy PTT Day that our principal gave to us (it was supposed to be her turn to talk to us and do staff-type-development-enrichment-excitement-bore-us-to-tears stuff) to work in our rooms! Hallelujah! I got a lot done.
I was pretty fast, too, until I was up on a counter tacking up some rope. You know . . . for my Pioneers/Western theme. I needed that rope, don’t ya know? Why, I’ll bet you do. Boy howdy.
That was my attempt to talk in my Texan accent. Did you hear it?
So, anywho, I was going pretty fast until I was crouched on top of the counter tacking up some rope. For real. I was doing that. And part of the rope came untacked and fell on me. Which startled me, obviously. I mean, a tack/pushpin/pin/sharp thing coming at me scared me.
Well . . . I was SO startled that I lost my contact.
In my eye.
Except I couldn’t find it.
I looked in the mirror that I have hanging up inside a cabinet. I looked above my eyeball, below my eyeball and on either side. Nothing. Whimpered. Prayed. Help, I said to my empty classroom. Looked up, down, side to side. Nothing. Panicked. Whimpered. Breathed.
I walked to the staff bathroom. Better light.
Up, down, side to side.
Nothing.
Repeated the process.
Nothing.
I did this for awhile. Gave up. Went to my partner’s room.
Help, I said.
She wears contacts, too, so she was unafraid. She acted like the eye doctor and dug around. I was impressed. I may have been a little squeamish had the situation been reversed. She gave me drops. I poured them in. Then she said she couldn’t see it in my eye, and that we needed to go to my room, and look around on the counter, and look on the carpet, and retrace my steps and all that.
But, people, I could feel it in my eye. Eeew.
My partner kept looking. I kept searching my eyeball. If only I could take my eyeball out, I thought.
About 20 minutes later . . . my partner was in the staff bathroom on her hands and knees . . . I was alone in my room . . . and . . .
It popped out of the recesses of my eye and landed square on my eyeball. Back in place. 20/20. Or close to it. Close enough. It never left my eye. Thank you, Jesus. I appreciate it. All is well. Not a scratch. Nothing.
Finished that rope, too. Forgot to take a picture, but I envision a big Open House post and I’ll show you then. If I make that far.
SQUIRREL, Farley, SQUIRREL.
It appears I have made a mistake.
Garsh. Gawsh. Dang it. Hate that!
I put up Theme 10, Week 1 and Theme 10, Week 2 tests for you all. Two wonderful friends let me know that both weeks have the exact same thing on side two.
You’d think I’d know that.
But I don’t. Because I haven’t given one of those theme tests in a few weeks. It doesn’t go along with my Pioneer theme so it was axed. See ya.
And I’d love to say I just fixed it right here on my computer and found the right one and all that . . . but guess what? It’s the exact same on my computer.
Yikes. I have no clue what happened.
And I’d love to fix it for you, but . . . I can’t right now. I apologize. I feel terrible. ๐ But I have other pressing matters . . .
Have you seen the show “Couples Therapy”? I am fascinated.
That’s not the pressing matter . . . Open House stuff is. Lots to do. Too much to do. I can’t wait to sleep in June. I’m really looking forward to it!

It fits.
IT FITS!!!!
I am so happy and when I have some time, I will try to find a picture of it . . . or even better, have someone take a picture of me in it!!! Wouldn’t that be something?
Well, I should go. I should probably eat some dinner instead of fritos and ranch dip. I’m really tired, but I think I have the energy to make a bowl of icecream with chocolate syrup.
If you haven’t entered my giveaway, check it out {HERE}.

OMG! This is why I will never get contacts!!!! I have a hard enough time thinking about putting something on my eye, but I have always been terrified of losing my contact on my eye. People say it never happens but now I know it does!!
Hooray for your dress! That is great news!!!

Oh my gosh! I am so glad you found your contact! And one time I was standing on my counter stapling things and my kids were in he room and my principal walked in! I told him to pretend like it wasn't happening. He turned around and walked out and never mentioned it. Lol

I've lost my contact IN my eye a couple of times!! The first time I didn't realize it was IN there, so I popped a new contact in… and the old one popped out the side of my eye, folded in half. Weird!!! So the second time, I knew I lost the contact in there, so I tried the old "pop another contact in" trick, and out popped the old one again, folded in half. Totally weird, and pretty scary!! ๐ Glad we can share in this haha! And I'm SO glad your dress fits!!

I hate when I lose my contacts in my eyes. It's the worst. I wish I was brave enough to do Lasik, but it just isn't going to happen.

ugh, I agree with everyone, that is the worst! And I always look every other possible place, my clothes, the floor, and it's in my eye!! Glad you found it and it didn't land on the school floor (THAT would freak me out!). I hope you have a nice rest of the week Kristin!

Yes, that has happened to me before, and it is quite disturbing. I mean, where does it go??? Luckily, it always seems to make it back to the right spot ๐

LMAO – sure a bowl of ice cream is way healthier than Fritos – it's dairy right, that's one of the food groups! So glad you found your contact, but that's kind of disturbing that it disappeared for a while – where does it go? I have a vision of a contact floating around in your brain – I obviously need a course in human anatomy! By the way, I just posted a giveaway too, I'd love it if you'd come check it out!
