Well, friends, yesterday was a hard day. ๐
We found out that Sydney has liver cancer. There’s nothing they can do . . . they gave her two weeks to two months. We just have to watch her and assess her quality of life. Right now, her quality of life is pretty high — at least in my mind, it is. Napping, eating, snuggling, going to the park, going for rides in the car, napping, eating, snuggling, etc. Sounds pretty darn good to me (says the girl sitting in her parent’s house with pajamas on).
Even though I know she can’t live forever, my heart is heavy. (And my eyes are sore)
I decided a trip to Ruby’s and a chocolate banana shake was in order. But then my niece, Madison, (visiting from TX) ended up with a fever . . . so we all just stayed home. This meant I was able to finish working on the Kindergarten Morning Work.
(Don’t be sad. I got Ruby’s today. Now I am too full and can barely move.)
SO!!! Brushing myself off and picking myself up . . .
Actually, wait.
That just reminded me that I fell pretty hard today. I was wearing an old pair of pajama bottoms and they are too long.
TOO LONG. Unusual, huh?
So, over time, they have frayed and torn, and have inadvertently become quite popular by today’s standards because I have made them into stirrup pajama pants.
And as I came down the stairs (with Kerry watching), my foot got caught in one of the stirrups and I couldn’t bring my leg forward and so I stumbled/ran/lunged forward until I ended up on the first floor of the house in a stop/drop/and roll position on my right hand which caught me from hitting my face and breaking my teeth and glasses gracefully leaped and danced onto the first floor like a gazelle in flight.
Kerry and I died laughing. Mainly because I wasn’t seriously injured. And, also, mainly because everyone else was asleep and it’s hard to laugh quietly when you have a bad case of the giggles brought on by people falling.
I crack up when people fall.
Is that just me?
Okay, let’s get back on topic. My ADHD is particularly bad today. It has nothing to do with the See’s candy for breakfast and chocolate banana shake for lunch. None.
I finished the Kindergarten Morning Work.
So if you’re one of the several many two or three people who asked for it, here you go!
Looks great. My kinders could use this.

Kristin, I am a loyal reader but don't comment often. I felt compelled to say something today. I am so, so sorry to hear about Sydney. My husband and I also consider our pup (she's 4) to be our daughter (dogter?), as we don't yet have children. Dogs are family and it's heartbreaking when something happens to them. I know I don't have to tell you this, but cherish the time you have left and give lots of extra cuddles. I'll hug my girl extra tonight.
So sorry to hear about Sydney. Y'all remain in our thoughts and prayers throughout it all. Loved the story about almost falling! Sounds hilarious. The morning work looks awesome!

I am a loyal reader but don't often comment. However, I had to let you know that when I read your post yesterday about Sydney being sick, I immediately started praying for you. Our family dog was diagnosed with cancer this past summer and had to be put to sleep about a month after the diagnosis. No matter the age, it is never easy to say goodbye to a loved one. Our four-legged friends truly become part of our family. I was nervous to read your post today and was sad to learn that Sydney has cancer. Please know that I will be keeping you, your family, and Sydney in my thoughts and prayers. Be sure to give her lots of treats, kisses, etc. and enjoy her to the fullest during the time she has left with you!
I am so sorry to hear about Sydney. Your family and pup are in my thoughts and prayers!

Kristen,
Happy New Year…I am a few days behind on my blog-stalking ๐
I so understand about your baby! My husband and I have been married for 21 years and do not have any human children. We do, however, have two 4-legged babies of the feline variety. A little over two years ago we lost their big brother, our Boxer, Coach. He had Degenerative Myelopathy, which to me is like ALS for dogs. (I feel free to compare because my dad had ALS.) It was awful and also became a quality of life issue… like you, we are unusually attached to our 4-legged babies and it was very difficult. I pray the Lord will give you guys the wisdom, strength, and courage you will need to go through this. Cherish the time you have with Sydney!
Katrina
Just lost my 16 year old furry baby. It was rough to say the least. Memories are the best though cause they last forever, well at least until we are old and senile at which time we still remember what happened 50 years ago but can't remember if we ate breakfast. But, I digress. Sydney will be in your heart forever.
First I just wanted to say I'm sorry about Sydney. That is not fun news, HUGS!
Second, I just stumbled upon your blog/website and……you kill me! You are HILARIOUS! I LOVE reading your posts and hope I can afford to purchase your great stuff!

Hi! Just wanted to say that I am in LOVE with your morning work bundle! I saw the giveaway so decided what the heck, i'll comment. I have spent soooo much money this year and would love to win this prize. It would really help me quickly spot checking those daily rehearsed skills.
