I just thought I should share three holiday things because you know . . . it’s December, and we’re tired, and we just survived Friday the 13th, as well as a full moon, and I personally survived all of that wearing an ugly sweater, too.
Did you hear? We’ve got five school days until winter break.
If you need some lesson plans, here are mine:
Assembly, Hot Chocolate Party, Winter Party, Assembly, This, That, The Other, Assembly, Pajama Day, Books, and Songs.
You’re welcome. I believe in sharing. Sharing is caring.
1 DIRECTED DRAWINGS FOR THE WIN!
I love First and Kinder Blue Skies Directed Drawing Resource and HIGHLY recommend it! I’m pretty sure I’ve shared a few of our drawings through the years, and here is THE FREE WRITING TEMPLATE if you need it.
How cute are these two reindeer? My whole class did an AMAZING job. But these two just killed me with their cuteness. I feel like the first reindeer could seriously be an illustration in a book. And I loved the creativity of the background in the second picture. Not to mention, the antlers in the second picture don’t really stand out so I feel like we are looking at the cutest squirrel or groundhog or rodent ever on some wrapping paper.
I would buy that wrapping paper is all I’m saying.
Someone asked me to create a Holiday SPECIFIC Write the Room and I didn’t want to. I like to use Skills Based Write the Room resources instead because a) they’re skills based and b) it doesn’t matter what time of the year it is and c) I am lazy.
But then I thought . . . maybe a Holiday Write the Room would be a great activity for the whole class to do the last week before break! It would get them up and moving, and maybe I could play some instrumental holiday music, and maybe turn out the lights or something like that . . .
So I created it. It has missing beginning sounds, missing ending sounds, or just the entire word. You choose.
I’m planning on using this Tuesday or Wednesday. Or maybe all three sets for three days in a row. I don’t know. I’m living on the wild side. You saw my lesson plans up above.

Thanks, once again, Kristin! My kids loved the Christmas Tree/dice game. ๐ They wanted to play every day. I even sent home some copies home for them to play with their families over the holidays.
Enjoy the break and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
