I’m talking about circles today.
Although, we’re not studying shapes in math. We are actually working on five and ten relationships. I really enjoy five and ten relationships because pretty much every single kid in my class is successful with five and ten relationships which means my relationship with math is a happy one right now. And that’s just good for everyone concerned.
Here’s the deal . . . Tara over at Little Minds at Work showed me a fun quiz that I had to show all of you.
Because my results cracked me up.
My results made Hadar laugh, too. And, to be honest, Hadar is the one who said I should blog about my results. Which was good because I really didn’t have anything to blog about besides how great my relationship with math is right now.
And how my feet hurt because I don’t think I sat down once today. But you probably don’t need to know that because we’ve talked about shoes before and what I should and should not be wearing. Is it weird that my Toms let me down today? Because they did.
So here’s the quiz.
First, you have to look at some shapes and decide which one appeals to you the most.
Then, you scroll down and see what that particular shape says about you.
I’m sure you’ve all done something similar. For example, at our last professional development day, I learned that I’m an ESFJ. Which, if you asked me now what that meant, I’d say I have no idea. I just know it means I’m a nice person.
😉
So anyways, on this quiz, I picked the circle.
I liked the circle.
It looked nice.
It’s round.
It’s kind of soft looking.
It’s like the world. Or a cookie. Or a pie.
Or a smiley face.
Or a cookie.
The triangle seemed too sharp, the square seemed too . . . well, I mean, who wants to be square? No offense to anyone who picks a square. And then there is also a squiggly line that I didn’t even understand and I wanted to sort it into another category because I really didn’t consider it a shape and what kind of quiz is this anyway?
Well.
It’s a pretty good quiz because here’s some stuff about circle people.
1. We like people.
2. We like harmony. (this has nothing to do with music, apparently)
3. We are peacemakers.
4. We are good sports.
*When I first read that one, I thought wait just a darn picking minute, I am terrible at sports, I scream and duck if a ball comes near me, I don’t even understand any part of football, what kind of a stupid quiz is this and then I realized it meant we ARE good sports. And I like to think I am. If I’m reading a book, I’ll give it to you after I’m finished. Afterwards, I said. No problem. I think that makes me a good sport, don’t you?
5. We are fun loving and laugh the most.
Done.
I could stop right there.
Hello, my name is Kristin and I AM A CIRCLE.
Some other things it said about circle people are that they have a hard time saying no (true), they hate conflict (true – I’ve already told you I’m still dating some high school boyfriends because I couldn’t break up with them), and the motto of a circle person is, “I’ll do it – somebody has to.”
Yep.
But here’s the kicker:
It tells you what kind of Meeting Behavior you like. As in, if you have to go to a meeting, what’s it like for a circle person?
I will quote it.
I am a squiggle. I tend to have many projects going at once and usually abandon many of them.
Ok- I did it! I picked triangle (although the squiggle did interest me).. Here are 2 from mine: Meeting behavior: Hate meetings. Get to the bottom line and move on
Motto: “So what’s your point???”
Yes- I hate meetings that go on & on and I want to shout- So what's your point!!! Haha. That part was true. It did say I want recognition- that is not true (I don't like to be singled out or be brought up in front of people). Maybe I should go see if I'm a squiggle. haha. Thant was fun!
I am most definitely a squiggle! I long for organization, but honestly have no idea how to implement it. My desk is always covered with stacks of papers & notes; I am a stacker. I'm always thinking of "great" ideas, how I could integrate this book into reading AND social studies AND math, etc…yet I never quite finish these brilliant projects. I definitely need someone to help keep me organized and task-oriented. A spontaneous squiggle; me in a nutshell.
I'm pretty sure I'm a triangle. I've done this test before…triangle seems to fit me the most. I'm very outspoken and yes I'm very to the point. I'm team leader this year and I probably said five times today. Okay that's all I have we're done…before someone else had to bring something else up and I was thinking so what's the point? Lol! I'm a ESFJ. It's all pretty interesting!
Hadar the triangle right here 😉 This post made me laugh all over again!
I am a circle too! That's why we should be friends, I would bring food to every meeting.
What a great quiz….turns out to be true for me. My motto: Well, somebody has to do it. And what do I need to improve upon?? Making unpopular decisions and worrying less about what other people think. I liked this so much I shared with my school.

I am a circle for sure. I love pie. I put snacks in the staff lounge even on non-meeting days. I volunteer for things because no one else does. I try to let peace guide my planet and planets orbit in a circle. I love harmony….both musical and otherwise. Circles rule!

I am a squiggly triangular circly kind of person. I don't fit just one mold. I hate meetings, I'm a caretaker who loves round foody things, and I write tons of lists that I can't find or don't finish. So there you go
Oh I I am so totally a squiggle. I am also a stacker, and try desperately to keep my classroom organized yet by the end of the day it always feels trashed again. The part about making lists but losing them cracked me up -that is dead on.
I'm a circle, too- totally. A tiny bit of a square thrown in. Your post was my favorite because you said how you scream and duck if a ball comes near you. LOVED that. And- that you're still dating some highschool boyfriends because you couldn't break up with them! HA! That is so me! 🙂 Thanks for the great start to my day! 🙂

I LOVE the shapes personality inventory! What a fun way to share it… your title of Circles drew me right in.

Oh dear. I'm a squiggle mess for sure.
I'm a triangle. Makes me think of a slice of pie..yum! AND it says we hate meetings…u betcha 😉
I am a triangle through and through! But I actually like meetings…as long as I'm in charge!
I'm a squiggle, which I agree with 100%!
Thanks for sharing, I definitely needed a break from planning 🙂

I am a squiggle.
I took this test years ago at a teacher event.
The presenter gave us the results like this:
When the fire alarm goes off unexpectedly,
The circles are gathering the criers to give them a hug and make them feel better
The squares are making sure everyone is in their lines and walking in an orderly fashion
The triangles are directing traffic and making sure everyone gets where they are supposed to be
The squiggles are running around yelling "Who's got the marshmallows?!"
I'm a squiggly circle person…creative, easily bored, too nice – can't say no, and only go to meetings for the food. Funny!
I picked squiggle even though I thought I should pick square. HaHa I am the squiggle trying to fit in the square peg. I do jump from A to Z and I swear there is a vortex in my room. But I do like deadlines (because it gets me focused), I can think sequentially, and I am stubborn but loyal. BUT I am a Gemini so maybe a square is my twin.

Hey Kristin, The above ways are full of fun and even not monotonous. These are truly tiny ones but full of big inspirations .:) I did not have any idea that students can learn all of the academic work in small pretty and fun ways. Even I am agree with Ann Mosley that you have to try new things like custom academic writing in students academic lives to get rid of their burdens and confusions.
