I always look forward to the Currentlys! And this one is especially awesome because it’s May. MAY!!!! Someone at school said we’re in the teens for our countdown to summer . . . but someone else said 21 days and then another person said 20 and a half days. As you can see, we’re not sure when we’re getting out, but it’s definitely a hot topic at my school. All I know is . . . I do not teach any days in June.
How about them Dodgers?
Just kidding. This blog will not be about sports. I do love baseball when I can go to the games and eat the ballpark hot dogs, nachos, and ice cream. Those are just my snacks. And then for dinner I usually get cotton candy and a pretzel. I also love baseball when the Dodgers are WINNING! (do not think Charlie Sheen “winning” here) Other than that, I can’t really watch a game.
Yep. I found two more dresses at the Loft. We have a wedding coming up (Not ours. We’re already married.) and so I needed a dress. The huge dress debacle from before did not leave me with a dress that I could wear to a wedding. Except for THE DRESS THAT WAS TAILORED and now does not fit me correctly. That was something I was planning on wearing to this wedding, but that’s not going to happen. No. Nope. Slow head shake. Not. Gonna. Happen.
So I found two more. Totally different styles. They had my size in my second favorite dress. They did not have my size in my first choice. Of course. This is my life. But they do happen to have that size in Boise. As in Idaho. With the potatoes. Taters.
My plane leaves tomorrow.
I kid. Sort of.
They’re going to ship it to me.
I hope it I like it because now that I’ve woken up, I’m sort of having buyer’s remorse. Dress Debacle woes. Not really sure if I like that second favorite dress. I bought it. Just in case. But now I’m thinking . . . no. Maybe. I don’t know.
Do you see how hard it is living inside my brain?
Do you ever have buyer’s remorse? Dress Debacle woes? Indecision?
They suggested I get the one they had and have it tailored.
I believe I shook my head and tried to speak, but nothing came out. The post traumatic stress disorder was in full force. The word “tailor” gives me the shakes.
Fingers crossed the dress they’re shipping fits perfectly. Instead of hopping on a plane, I just paid $12 for next day air. That’s how I roll, people. Call me the money maker.
I will be having wine tonight. Because of the dress debacle.
My poor mama — physical therapy is grueling and she’s still in pain . . . I hate it. I am tho thad for her. π I am going to go and lie in bed with her again today. We will watch TV and I will show her stuff on my computer. I don’t know if it will make her feel any better, but I know I will. We will lie in bed while my older sister runs around with ice packs, medicine, dressings, grilled cheese sandwiches, toilet brush cleaners, pillows, etc. I’m really hoping she can be just a tad bit quieter today so my mom can rest. Last week, she woke me up from my nap.
I cannot believe I am out of copy paper for the printer and pigs are not flying. I checked. No pigs flying. I’m flabbergasted.
I’m Mrs. Yes, Of Course, Will Do! Because that’s what I do when I should say No, I Really Can’t, Maybe Next Time.
And my platform? I wish I had one. I can’t come up with a pat answer. As soon as I saw the word platform, I thought of platform shoes. And they would make me taller if I ever decided to wear them. So that’s my platform. Done.
And that’s my Currently.

Have you seen all of those giveaways for the document cameras, microphones, and recorders? I thought I should get in on that. I never have anything to give away and this would be pretty cool. Learning Resources contacted me, too, (I was SURPRISED), and I want to know if you all might want me to do some giveaways for that.
Happy Saturday!!!!!!

I loove your platform! Too cute!
I hope your Loft trip doesn't end up as another dress debacle and that your mom's pain starts to lessen soon.
I agree COMPLETELY with your pageant title! I always end up getting stuck doing more than I want because I'm too worried about upsetting people to actually tell them no. It's been a little easier this year because I was pregnant for half the year and people didn't ask as much.
Love reading your blog!
Gotta love Learning Resources…
…and of course YOU too, platform shoes or not.

Hey we Idahoans don't call them taters, we call them spuds :). They don't grow spuds in the Boise area they grow sugar beets and berries and stuff, cause they're to warm for spuds.
We (the kinder, gentler, less snotty side of Idaho) grow spuds. We also can boast of our wonderful weather, where it snowed, rained, hailed and was windy today with a lovely high of 40 degrees.
I hope your mom feels better soon, I'm sorry she is having such a hard time. Prayers to you and your family.
Jill
your platform made me laugh out loud – for real – not just virtually – thanks

Girl I need you to blog more. It's really selfish of you to take care of your mom and your students. I need you.
Thanks,
Reagan
I hope your Momma is better soon. We took both momma's (hubby's and mine) to my son's graduation, it wore them out. Hard to handle those momma's getting older. Including this momma. π Happy end of the year. Good luck with the dresses.

Hope your mom feels better soon!
I like to listen to the game, but my husband has converted me to a Cubs fan. So much so that we named our daughter after a street that Wrigley Field is on and my favorite (and his) first baseman.
I read "winning" not in a Charlie Sheen voice, but in the Courtney from the Bachelor voice- I thought for sure she was out of my life and then she sneaks back in in unexpected places!!
Platform made me laugh. I shouldn't be surprise, I always laugh when I visit your blog.
