Well . . . hi there! Hold your applause, hold your applause . . . I can’t talk through all the clapping. I’m back! After a two day hiatus, I’m back. That felt like a really long time to me, but it’s only been two days. Maybe you didn’t miss me and that clapping noise is just actually the chitter chatter from school following me home.
When in the world is the Bachelorette coming on?
I have great news!
I did not pull out my hair today! Hooray!
I also wore Uggs in the mist, spit, drizzle, whatever you want to call this weather that we’re having where I live. This is a huge improvement from the flip flops that I wore and slid around in yesterday in the same exact weather.
It’s May 2. Where do I live again? I haven’t seen the sun in DAYS. Two, I think.
Another good thing? We have moved on from the regular Angry Birds and started the DELUXE EDITION of STAR WARS Angry Birds. Whoa. I am now the MOST FAMOUS TEACHER IN ALL THE LAND. My boys were especially impressed with my knowledge of the characters.
The best thing? It is official. I am staying in first grade.
Please excuse me while I do a happy dance.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I’m just shaking my tail feather there. It’s the only dance I know.
Here’s how it all went down.
Here’s the low down.
Here it is.
The one teacher on my team that is not really a part of the team because she sets herself apart from the team —- does this make sense?
Well, anyways, that teacher decided fifth grade was for her. And she volunteered.
I almost fell over from the shock.
I didn’t. I stood standing. Almost, though. It was close.
But then . . . it made sense. She is excited. We’re excited. It’s a win win.
And, just for the record, (who’s taking notes, by the way?) I have tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and tried and then I gave up, and then I prayed, and so I tried and tried and tried and tried to be her friend. We are friendly. But we are not friends. I share everything. I help. I smile. I talk (no way!), I invite her to lunch (where there’s actually no invitation necessary because I am not hosting and Chick Fil A does not have a guest list), I talk, I ask, I smile, etc, etc, etc. I do not exclude people. It’s not in my nature.
Or, I suppose it is in my nature because I am human . . . but I try to act the right way. I like people.
Like the lady at Michael’s today who did not make me get out my Teacher Card to get my 15% discount. Nope. She took me and my Spirit Wear Shirt and my Spirit Wear Sweatshirt and my damp, limp hair (of which I still have all of because I did not pull it out today!) and took my word for it. Teacher. Yep. That’s me. It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I was organizing her countertop or giving an evil eye to the wayward child behind me.
Our team next year will only consist of four of us. That’s small! Most teams have five and some have six! I will be the teeny tiny teacher on the teeny tiny team!
The four of us enjoy each other very much and it will be like we are practically having a party every day. Even on rainy day schedule.
I cannot believe the end of the year is coming up so fast. I am starting to panic and I am staying at school later and later. Then I bring stuff home and work. I’m still fitting in all my reality and I’m reading a book . . . I don’t think I’m sleeping very much but I am so tired, I can’t recall if that’s the case or not.
I have two of the three Theme 10 tests for you. I don’t have Week 3 because I don’t care about it I haven’t made one yet. I’ll try to get that to you soon.
In the meantime . . .
Okay. I’m off. To cut laminate. Forever.
Why has no one commented on this?! Love your official news, so excited for you!!! Ooh, I have to text you RIGHT NOW!!!
Yay for staying where you are!!!
I love cutting laminate.. its soothing! HAHAHA
Congrats! My team is going from 6 to 4 next year! Remember our HUGE class size increase to 24? that's why! ๐
I'm happy you'll still be in first grade!!!
My team is going from 1 to…… 1 next year! Good times, haha.
Marvelous Multiagers!
Yay for you!!! That is great news! I would hate it if you were forced to write about fifth graders! They are way too big. Give that teacher a cake (or something)!
Congrats on staying with the firsties!
You have a large team compared to mine there are 2 kinders and 1 pre-k teacher! Regan your class size is small compared to mine I started the year off with 33 kinders now I am down to the teeny tiny size of 29 kiddos!

YAY!
I'm a team of 1 (sometimes 1.5 if there is a combo class).
I am tickled, thrilled, and delighted–and grateful that God answers prayers… in a variety of ways!
Besides, you would have to be: A REALLY Teeny Tiny Teacher in 5th Grade… and that blog name may already be taken…
I'm so happy for you!

Sweeeeeeeet! So happy you get to stay where you wanted!!!! I totally get the non-sleep of the last weeks of school thing. I don't think I remember what the insides of my eyelids look like. OH yeah – there they are. I'd better hit the sack!
Oh yeah – Emily and the Bachelorette start May 14th. That means only 12 days until Talk about it Tuesday is back! WooHoo!
I'm glad you get to stay:) I don't know what I am doing…..I really love this class and have considered looping but REALLY don't want to teach 5th….so….
You cracked me up about the Michaels organizing the counter and evil eye to the kid…..I forget I'm not at school sometimes and do them same with kids running amuck in the stores…..too funny!
Well, welcome back….I have missed you so part of the clapping was me:) and congrats on staying in 1st with your teeny tiny team:) We only have 4 4th grade teachers too!

A Cupcake for the Teacher
Yay for you! Glad your teacher friend {acquaintance?} volunteered to move to 5th.
Seriously. Where IS the sun? So gray and gloomy. The rest of the school is testing… this weather suits their moods. ๐
I'm at work right now, prepping crap, getting ready for Open House in a few weeks and planning next week … I realized I didn't have your wonderful story tests for theme 10, which we start next week… so I popped on here to check if you had it in Scrib'd… and better yet, you had posted it here! YAY.
…ok…back to work for me!
Thanks!

That's AWESOME!!! Congrats Kristin!!
Hello!!!
I am back after a looong hiatus from getting married here in London and having our families visiting and sight-seeing, etc!!
Anyway I wanted to tell you that my cousin is in South Carolina (I think that's right?) because he works on a certain show!!! I totally forgot–he does set design for The Bachelor/Bachelorette these days apparently!
And talking about your team-I have been on a team of 1 before! Is that a teeny tiny school or what?! And I've been on teams of 7 before (too many for me!)

Journey of a Substitute Teacher
So glad it's official. First grade is lucky to have you! How about your school and that contest or award or whatever it was that you were all working so hard for? Is that official yet?
Love your blog. And I can't believe you organized the counter at Michaels. Kidding, yes I can! And I can never ever never keep my mouth shut when kids misbehave in public. Sometimes it is so bad, I even pull my teacher card on an adult. Today this guy was literally cleaning out his car and sweeping the trash onto the parking lot of my daughter's school! I had no problem saying, really loudly, "What a mess!" What I really wanted to say was, "Shame shame shame on you."
You are just too funny…I love your blog! I am happy you are staying in first:)

1st to 5th? Yuck! I would not want to volunteer for that! We had that happen to our team some years ago. However, our principal didn't make the decision, he put it on the five of us. Of course, NO ONE wanted to volunteer. Then, he HAD to make the move. Thank God it wasn't me.
I am glad you are still in 1st. It is nice to have only 4 teachers on a team. I miss that. We have 7. 7! Plus, I'm the team leader. Getting 7 to do anything is a nightmare!
Have a great Friday,
Andi
I so enjoy your blog! It totally makes my day to read it. Great sense of humor!!
Yay for staying in 1st!!!! And I'm so glad it worked out for everyone!!!! ๐ I can't wait for the Bachelorette to come on too!!!! Have a great weekend!!!
Love your website. Thanks for the theme tests. My team is planning on using these next year. You are a lifesaver/timesaver. When looking at the theme tests for 10 I noticed the second page is the same for both. Would you be able to fix this, please? Keep the humor coming. It is a nice way to destress.
