As everyone else has already said, I can’t believe it’s June!
Um . . . so what’s that “label field” next to Listening up there on my template? I have no idea. I wasn’t even working in Power Point or Word. I was working in some kind of office situation. Except there was no office. And no secretary. And no coffee.
I had to “finagle” all of that just to get it on here. I’m pretty tired now.
I wish I could do some of this template stuff on my iPad, but I couldn’t figure it out. Is there a way?
As my Currently states, I am at my sister’s. And I’m working on a very old Dell computer. As a matter of fact, this thing might be older than me. And I’m old. As I told you the other day.
Speaking of, thanks for the birthday wishes.
We had an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. DEE-LISH.
We also had lunch at The Cotton Patch. It’s one of my favorite places to go when I’m out here visiting. I love love love the chicken fried steak. And the rolls. And the butter. And the cinnamon apples. And the gravy.
The gravy! People! Today, we had Whataburger. Not to be confused with Thatsaburger or Thisisaburger. And I got chicken fingers. WITH GRAVY. Not Ranch. GRAVY. I love me some gravy. (I also love Ranch, but not when gravy is an option.)
I’m kind of going over this out of order.
Because I forgot to tell you that I also had Braums.
It has to be my number one food place that I miss when I’m home in California. We stopped to get it after I landed at the airport (which took 12 hours, by the way. I won’t go into it. It’s boring. But you can feel sorry for me.). Chocolate almond ice cream is my all time favorite. And don’t tell me that Baskin’s has it. Or Coldstone. Or any yogurt place. They don’t have it unless it’s Braums.
SO! Enough about food . . . although I have to have Taco Bueno before I leave.
Speaking of . . . I was supposed to leave this Sunday. At the crack of dawn. And change planes in Denver. (All in an attempt to save money. I always fly straight through, but the tickets were outrageous this go around.) Waaaaa.
So we (the twin and I) decided I should leave Monday.
So I called United. Shrugged my shoulders. How much could it possibly be to change my flight by one day? $75? $100? No biggie. Kerry and I decided we would split the difference. Or the sameness. Whatever.
The kind customer service representative put me on hold for awhile.
And then she very calmly told me that my cost would be $1112. As in, One Thousand, One Hundred, and Twelve Dollars. As in Highway Robbery.
I know.
Honestly.
Apparently, I was being booked on Air Force One.
So then, sweet brother-in-law says, “How about you use some of my miles?”
He travels a lot.
And he just has some extra miles here and there around the house.
So he made the reservations for me and I’m staying until Monday. And then I have a straight flight with no stop overs. I do have to sit in the middle, though. But that’s okay. I bring good snacks and share so the people are kind to me when I have to go to the restroom three times. Or four. Or however many.
I think brother-in-law was trying to smooth things over with me. Because we had a card incident.
He got me a birthday card.
I took a picture of it, but can’t figure out how to get it on here. Or from my iPad onto my blog. Help?
So you’ll have to use your imagination.
On the front is a bunny rabbit. A vintage bunny rabbit. He looks like he’s from the 60s.
He’s cute. If you like that sort of thing.
And the inside says, “Happy Birthday to Somebunny Special.”
Well . . . that would have been fine and dandy.
Except.
The bunny is holding a chainsaw.
For real.
It’s . . . disturbing.
It makes no sense to me. Why is this cute little bunny wishing me a happy birthday with a chainsaw in his hands? Or paws. Whatever. Does it mean “Tear it up on your birthday!”? Or “Have a rip roaring birthday!”? Something sinister? Any other ideas?
I think my brother-in-law might be sending me an underlying message. Shudder. Shivers. Goosebumps.
So now he’s letting me stay an extra day.
Thoughts? About a chainsaw bunny?
Okay – back to my Currently.
My sister is doing laundry. And they are having a situation with a pipe. Or two. And now the toilet is gurgling. She’s probably going to be mad that I’m disclosing this. But it’s kind of funny.
Tomorrow we are driving to Oklahoma. We are having a girl’s night with one of our oldest and dearest friends. She just celebrated the 19th anniversary of her 21st birthday, too. And we’ve been friends since we were ten years old. Kerry booked a hotel for us and everything. So after we party and go clubbing eat dinner at the Olive Garden (I have gift cards), we will get in our pjs and talk. It’s going to be a wild time.
I want to go to the Central Texas Blogger Meet Up for obvious reasons. Except that my niece will be in a dance recital that day. I’m super excited to be here to see it. Plus, the meet up is about 3 hours away. And seeing as how we’re driving 3 hours to Oklahoma . . . I can’t do everything I want. Even though it’s my birthday anniversary week.
What a random post.
In the meantime, I will avoid the bunnies that are EVERYWHERE here.
You just never know . . .

Boy, oh boy . . . do I heart me some Taco Bueno! I spent some time a zillion summers ago in the Dallas/Plano area and discovered my passion for their fine bean burrito cuisine. Take a BIG bite for me ๐

My husband is from Ardmore, Oklahoma and Braums is about the ONLY reason I will go there to visit his family. I just don't understand why other places don't catch on to the luxury of drive-thru milk purchases. Duh!
Oh wait, there's a Taco Bueno, too.
Maybe I will go to OK for that, too.

There has to be SOME reason the person who made the card made the bunny hold a chainsaw!?! Although the mystery of it makes it even more funny.
Happy belated btw! Have so much fun with your sister!!
p.s. I love that you mentioned every food stop…you're my kind of girl! ๐

Yummmm… Whataburger. When we flew to Texas my brother could spot it from the plane as we circled about the San Antonio airport. He'd had it when he went their on vacation so he said we had to go. It's one of the many reasons I want to go back. Glad you're having fun with your sister!

You must be somewhere in the DFW area… my stomping grounds. Have you ever eaten at Taco Casa… ohhh man! I love their nachos and tostadas. Totally not Mexican food, but it is so good!
Last time I went to Braums- an older gentlemen tried to convince me to go home with him… while I was buying ice cream with my then 11 year old niece. Interesting to say the least… When I told the story to my husband I may have said the phrase "momma still got it". He rolled his eyes lol!
I love Taco Bueno, Whataburger, and the Cotton Patch too ๐ Please breathe some Texas air for me.

I'm in OK now! How awesome that you are coming my way!! You should tour the Braum's factory….I've heard it's awesome! Even though my sister has Friendly's, we have to stop at Braum's after she lands so she can get her fix too. If you're coming to OKC, you've got a LOT of great restaurants to choose from…of course besides Whataburger, Taco Bueno….. But we don't have any scary bunnies so you'll be safe while you're here!!
Cindy says
If you download the app., BLOGGER, to you IPad then you can add easily add pictures…..but they will be in random spots ( or maybe I just don't know how to work it) until you adjust your post on a computer :/… Doesn't sound to helpful does if?

When you drive past Lawton, OK give me a wave please! I am about 1 1/2 from OKC! I wish I could go to the Central TX meet-up too but it's too far – 6 hours! I am holding out for one in Dallas! And by the way, I wouldn't worry too much about bunnies becasue they don't have the opposable thumbs to operate a chainsaw properly. I would however check your brother-in-law's closet for a bunny suit! Maybe go drain the gas out of his chainsaw too…

Ok, so you just threw me back in time. I grew up in a small town outside Dallas with a Cotton Patch and a Braum's. And neither of those things exist where I now live, even though I'm still in Texas. I'm so far west in Texas, that if I went any wester, I'd be in Mexico.
Also, maybe that's why the bunny was somebunny special. The chainsaw, that is. He was no ordinary bunny. He was a special one. Just a guess.
