How is this possible?
How did one week of Spring Break just fly by like it was nothing?
Because that’s what happened. It’s Saturday again. And I wasn’t ready.
Just saying.
Thank you for all of your prayers!! I had oral surgery on Monday because, if you know me at all, you know I really like starting things off with a bang.
I’m silly like that.
My surgery wasn’t scheduled until 12:30pm so I was unable to eat or drink anything all morning.
Then . . . after talking to my oral surgeon, and going over scans , and this-and-that, and the other, I elected to STAY AWAKE.
I KNOW!
I don’t know what I was thinking, but he suggested it, and the next thing I knew, I was nodding along. I’m pretty sure it’s because he is so super handsome, and I will pretty much do anything he says just to make him like me.
PS I am happily married.
But my oral surgeon often refers to me as his best patient ever so I think I win.
Anywho . . .
I stayed awake. I did. I was numb, and the numbing process was not easy, but I stayed awake and endured the procedure for 40 minutes. Five stitches later, Steve took me home, set me up on the couch, and brought me a Chick Fil A milkshake because hello? I’m a champ. AND I COULD HAVE EATEN WHATEVER AND WHENEVER AND HAD COFFEE BECAUSE I DID NOT GET PUT TO SLEEP.
Ho hum.
Now we wait.
I have had almost ZERO pain. He prescribed a painkiller, but I’ve only been taking Advil. GOD IS SO SO SO GOOD.
I saw my oral surgeon for a follow up on Friday, and he’s happy with how everything looks, and he’ll check it again in six weeks or so. So, if you feel inclined to pray, please please please pray that the bone is attaching to the other bone, and that everything is healed and SOLID.
THANK YOU!
Spotted at Walmart!!!
Look how cute this Unicorn chair is! I wanted it BADLY, but once I squeezed myself into it, I determined it’s probably just a tad bit too small for first graders.
Yes. I squeezed myself into it. I was at Walmart, for crying out loud. Anything goes at Walmart, right?
They also had the cutest elephant chair – like CUTEST ELEPHANT EVER, and a bear chair.
All for the low low low price of $29.99.
I would say PreK, TK, and Kinder Kids would be perfect for these little chairs.
Get one and say you have flexible seating in your classroom.
😉
PS This is not a sponsored post for Walmart.
Look what came up on my Instagram Feed!!!! Have you ever seen a cuter bell?! These are custom made on Etsy from Picking Up STEAM.
I can’t stop looking at them! She has a ton of different styles and can basically make one to match your heart’s desire.
When I showed this to a couple of people in my family, they all said something along the lines of but what do you use that kind of bell for in your classroom? And they asked it in a kind of incredulous type of voice like I was an idiot for even thinking twice about these adorable bells.
And I was like hello? I use my bell all the time! It’s our clean up bell! It’s our three strikes and you’re out bell! It’s the bell I clang over and over when I’m trying to make a point and so I clang it and clang it and say the same thing over and over like WRITE – CLANG – YOUR – CLANG – NAME – CLANG!
And they just looked at me as if I’d lost my mind.
By the way, the three strikes and you’re out clanging is from Teacher Tipster. I just love that guy! He calls his bell the “whisper bell” and if his class gets too loud, he rings it, and his class says Whisper Bell! After three strikes, ZERO TALKING.
Anyways, I am thinking I need to order a custom bell . . .
Kerry arrived Wednesday so I’ve been staying at my parent’s house . . . I could drive back and forth but, with traffic, it can take an hour each way . . . and by staying at my parent’s house, I avoid traffic, plus get a little bit spoiled in the process so this is obviously the way to go! My mom makes yummy food, we go out to eat, we run errands, we sit around, we watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune . . . life is good!
I’ve been SUPER consistent with walking on the treadmill since January 8. SUPER CONSISTENT. When I went to Texas in March, I walked on Kerry’s treadmill. I’m telling you, just call me CONSISTENT KRISTIN.
There is no treadmill at my mom’s house so Kerry and I have been walking between four and six miles every day around their neighborhood. They live about two houses down from this pretty lake and our walks are filled with shade, ducks, and lizards. Instead of watching trashy TV shows while on the treadmill, I’ve got Kerry beside me, we talk the entire way, and it’s beautiful!
It’s been AWESOME!
I *FINALLY* finished up Write the Room for Fry Sight Words! My kids are seriously obsessed with this Write the Room edition and beg me to put more cards out ALL THE TIME. They love searching for the cards, they love cracking the code, and they love coloring the check mark when they read the word to a friend.
Seriously OBSESSED. It’s one of their favorites!
If you need Dolch, you can find it {HERE}.
And that’s it for this week! Tonight is my dad’s big retirement party and it’s time to go help out with food and decorating and whatever else is needed!
See you next week!
🙂
