Hooray for Saturday!
Last weekend, Steve and I snuck away to Newport Beach for a little mini vacay. The hotel allowed dogs so Murphie got to come with us!
Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived so we walked around Newport Dunes and then had a drink to kick off the weekend. ๐ We swam a little, got a few groceries, and stayed in that night.
On Sunday morning, we walked to Balboa Island for some coffee, and then walked around the entire island. It was drizzling and a little cold . . . it actually felt like fall! We ended up walking five miles total (according to Steve’s watch) so I felt like we exercised a lot and needed to eat to make up for it.
We took the hotel shuttle to Fashion Island (Murphie was even allowed on that!!), walked around, and had lunch at the Great Maple. They let Murphie sit with us on the patio. I’m telling you, everyone was so nice to her and she was such a good girl all weekend.
That night, we met up with Hadar and Tom for some yummy dinner. We meant to take a picture (we even discussed it with the boys) and then totally forgot because we never stopped talking.
It was the perfect weekend!
I got a new phone case for my iPhone 6s that I do not own yet.
Call me a nerd, but I like to be prepared. I have an upgrade coming and I am ready for it. My current phone is not acting right. Sometimes it shuts off for no reason, and that’s after I power it down every night to avoid things like this. It’s old, I guess.
So any who . . . this will be my second case from MyCustomCase and I highly recommend them. You will be on their site for days — the options are endless! I am not a spokesperson for them, nor do I get anything for shouting them out to you — I’m just a fan.
Or it’s because I drop my phone all the time and nothing has ever happened to it. (I also recommend the extra cushion)
We had Arts Smarts this week! That’s like Specials for some of you in other parts of the country. For me, it’s once a trimester and a highly trained professional (I think) comes in to teach an Art lesson to my class while I try to blend into the background and act like I’m not there.
It’s hard to act like I’m not there, especially when I walk around and take pictures throughout most of the lesson.
But how cute is this adorable hippo?
We started a new round of centers this week so I put away the Back to School plays and took out the Fall plays for Beginning Readers.
My kids are ALL ABOUT THESE PLAYS! Each group always asks me to help them find a funny one. I tell them they are all funny, excuse me, I wrote them! And they don’t believe me.
Seriously. They do not believe that I wrote these plays.
They are a bit obsessed with the play I See a Spider and I had one pair of girls who got the giggles and couldn’t finish their play when they were “performing”. Once they got the giggles, we all got the giggles.
I wish I had been videotaping it. ๐
I got a new stamp! My teammie, Laurie, ordered one of these stamps last year from Vista Print and I always borrowed it. It comes in so handy!! I couldn’t use my own fonts (BOO!) but I thought this one was pretty cute . . .
And that’s about it!
Have a happy weekend!

The weather last weekend was like fall near the coast. And then it rained all day Monday! Yippee, we need it! But I think we are back to summer. It's 95 near the coast today, so I am sure it is at least that hot, if not hotter where you are!

Sounds like a really fun weekend! Murphie is adorable! Wish I could take my shepherd with me places-she gets too anxious.

Uhm..that stamp is a genius idea!!โฆ..and it just reminded me that I need to print labels out tonight that say the exact thing!!
I love that California is such a dog friendly place. I remember when I went shopping at Fashion Island..there were a ton of dogs around and a lot of them sat on the benches. lol
