Which is a fancy way to say that they were re-doing the asphalt or whatever the black road is called which had turned light gray and pothole-y over time. That meant that we could not drive or walk on it. So I had to park in Tumbuktu and walk several miles to get to my car.
Maybe not several miles.

Okay, it was at least a whole entire block and I couldn’t see my house anymore and I was sad for the Mini to be outside all by itself overnight.
And if you can’t tell from the picture, I live in a forest and had to drop bread crumbs to find my way home.
Only, I ate all the breadcrumbs so I just found my way home on a wish and a prayer.

We went to visit Auntie Cass and we took her steak and potatoes. Yes, we did.
Her roommate or suite mate or the lady in the other bed in the room said I had beautiful eyes.
We are now best friends. Her name is Carmen. She speaks mostly Spanish, but it’s like we are soul sisters, that old woman and I.

A bunch of us went to Happy Hour yesterday after work to celebrate the end of Conference Week. And Friday. And Happy Hour.
