I’m wide eyed and bushy tailed.
Okay, I’m more like lethargic being that I slept a lot and then took Murphie on a super long walk in the muggiest weather ever so that even though it was cloudy and threatening to rain, I was a sweaty and disgusting mess when we got home. Murphie passed out. We are going to lounge for a little bit.
1.
She actually turned 9 months old on Tuesday.
If you’re keeping track.
I am.
But I am her mommy.
2.
It’s LABOR DAY WEEKEND!
Hip Hip Hooray! That’s all I have to say about that.

Lunch with a friend today!
I already know what I’m going to order.
It’s either the spring rolls and a side of fries
or the ham and cheese sandwich
with tomato basil soup and a side of fries.
I know I’m having fries.
I skipped breakfast in order to have this meal.
I know you’re not supposed to skip breakfast.
But I am a rebel, I tell you.
4. We are reviewing this coming week in Language Arts due to the four day week and the fact that I haven’t covered everything I should have. I don’t really know if I’ll ever have a week in which I covered everything on the lesson plans . . . it might help if I could stop talking so much. Anyways, I’m excited to use Marsha’s (A Differentiated Kindergarten) Word Work Galore packs to review short a and short i.
I’m so excited to use these!
5. Lastly, I’ve been using my First Grade Morning Work and it is fabulous! I am really happy about how well it’s working! The kids know what to do and now I’m able to get attendance done, start kids on AR, pull kids to fix math or finish a test or whathaveyou, drink some coffee, and put my feet up.
Yes. That says but.
Giggle giggle.
You can check it out {HERE}.
It’s very routine. I am currently working on the second pack which will cover more Common Core skills and be more challenging, but not so much that the kids can’t handle it independently. I know we all need that time in the morning to wake up.
And that’s my five! I guess you could say nothing exciting is going on.
Besides Big Brother. Was that awkward or what when Aaryn was interviewed by Julie Chen???? Oh my word. I kind of felt sorry for her because she has no clue.
And, FYI, I lived in Texas. And my twin still lives there. And I take offense at Aaryn blaming her racist comments on being from Texas.
But I still felt bad for her. Just because she has no clue and she is going to have a lot to deal with when she leaves the Jury House. Yikes.
I am okay with her leaving the house, though. Now let’s get McRanda out!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright, I am off to lunch! Have a great weekend!

Happy 9 month birthday Murphie! Just as an FYI {don't get mad!} I had to avoid your blog for a while afraid I would get Bachelorette data I couldn't see… Yes, that show from a million years ago… I JUST saw the finale a few days ago upon my return from vacation. But I'm back my teeny tiny friend!!!!!!
Enjoy BJs… Hope to see you soon!

Happy 9 months to Murphie! Time flies doesn't it? I wan rest sorry to see Aaryn go either but like you I felt sorry for her too. She's clueless! I can't wait to see Amanda go! Is she the biggest bully ever or is it just me?

Hi Kristin,
I totally agree, I felt bad for Aaryn. Especially when the crowd was laughing at her. I can't imagine how upset she will be when she learns the whole world has been thinking so badly of her. I can't stand Amanda. What a psycho bully!

I LOVE Marsha's Word Family Galore packs! I just posted the other day about how I turned one set of the cards into word family ribbons to display on one of my bulletin boards. ๐
Have a wonderful weekend.

BB fan here too! I was disgusted at Aaryn's behavior but I am equally disgusted with how Amanda has acted. She is a nasty, mean, vile human. I just hate that she's so smart and has lasted this long!

I'm in total Big Brother agreement with you. That's the interview I've been waiting for. Seeing her face as Julie read those quotes was priceless. I also think her eyebrow grooming got weird while inside. I bet if she weren't a jury member it would've been even more awkward because Julie could spill the beans. I did feel kinda bad that the audience boo'ed….but only a little. I'm over McRanda….particularly the Amanda part….and I'm over these to be continued competitions.

Your morning work looks amazing. I think this is such a great idea for reinforcing all those CCSS skills and give the kids a chance to practice them. Miss you.

Kristin, you are a much better dog owner than I am. Today when Koda and I went out it was already 90* (hello, Texas, it's SEPTEMBER!) and he literally got 4 minutes outside before I was sweating and ready to go in. Murphie is one lucky pup! Maybe Koda will get a walk around 9pm.

I'm starting my week (first week) with your end of Kinder pack. I'm hoping to get some good info from these babies by seeing who whips it right off and who asks what to do for each one. I'm also starting gold tickets this year!
I'll keep you posted.

Happy 9 months to Murphie! This weather has been crazy! We went to visit the in-laws this weekend to get away from the crazy weather. Wish it would just rain and get it over with!
I agree with Big Brother! Amanda needs to go!!!! She is such a bully!!!

Hi Kristin!
I'm a new teacher this year, new to your blog, and just purchased your morning work packet. I can't wait to start using it. I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind (and maybe you have already posted this) sharing how you make those cute worksheets? I have so many I would like to make to fit my class, but I have NO clue where to start. I LOVE the look/cuteness to yours. Any help would be much appreciated! ๐
Thank you!
