Well, better late than never, is what I always say.
I’m linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching so you can take a peek at my week. A look-see. Just in case you like to stalk me in the way that I like to stalk others.
I started the week with a baby shower last Sunday. It was amazing, mainly because my friend tried for YEARS to get pregnant and went through a lot to get here. It was seriously a celebration. Not to mention that the night before, the hubby, his aunt, his uncle, Hadar, and I tried to eat at a fun place with wine and bruschetta only to be told we needed reservations . . . so then we drove on to an Italian restaurant that we love only to find out that it had CLOSED . . . which meant we finally ended up at a Mexican restaurant which is not my fave food-fare at all, but the skinny Margarita and chips and salsa sorta helped. So when this shower started out with bread and cheese and yummy carbs followed by PASTA and BREAD and SALAD and CUPCAKES and CAKE, I was thrilled to be there.
This is a pic of my school the day after the attack. So sad. ๐
All in all, a good week in first grade.
Doggy daycare is the best thing ever. I love this place that we take Murphie to because there are no kennels. She runs and plays with other dogs all day which, apparently, is important for German Shepherds because they need to be socialized and can get separation anxiety. Murphie has yet to meet a dog and/or a person that she doesn’t like so I think we’re good to go in that department. She gets to go twice a week. When she comes home, this is what she does. She follows me into the kitchen or the family room or the backyard or wherever and just drops.
Good girl, Murphie!
Last night was our school auction. I had my annual “pre-party” and I used my Wine Writer Pens! It’s hard to tell in the picture, but they worked like a charm!
I also don’t know if you can tell, but there is a bag of Cheeto Puffs in the background.
I pull out all the stops when I have people over, don’t ya know.
Actually, Laurie got those for me because she is on a health kick (wine is healthy) and she is always eating at every break. When I go in her classroom, I say, “Is that a Cheeto puff?!” with hope and fervor and all of my being because they are a guilty pleasure and I love them like no other chip on the planet. And she always says, “No, it’s a carrot.”
It’s always a stupid carrot. Stupid carrot! She always offers me one and I just shake my head sadly and walk away. Dejected. Deprived. Hungry.
So she brought that big ole bag of Cheetoh puffs and I ate about half of it and, in case you were wondering, why yes, they do pair well with red wine!
I honestly can’t think of something that doesn’t go with red wine.
Can you?
OOOOOK, your puppy is so cute!!!!

Hi Friend!
I am posting a similar picture of our half-staff flag on my Five for Friday… which I am posting on Monday. Which I guess makes it Fronday. Oddly, that sounds better to me than Monday–which is rarely my favorite day.
And now I need to go to the store. I am suddenly in the mood for Cheetos…

It is so sweet to see your flags flown at half staff for Boston. I teach in Boston Public Schools… it has definitely been a crazy scary week but everyone is so happy that they caught the bad guy.

My favorite thing to do is stalk you….is that creepy? Don't worry, I don't live close enough to actually stalk you. If I did live closer I would call you up and actually bring over wine or cookies or something.
Here's to another good week!

Kristin, you're my soul sister! EVERYTHING goes good with red wine. Especially long winters. I've purchased a lot of wine this year. . . it's still snowing.

Carrots. Carrots do not go well with red wine.
