I don’t think I’ll ever be able to link up on a Friday. So I’m linking up on Fraturday. Which means I had good intentions to post last night, but ended up posting today.
Here are the highlights of my week:
I’m in the process of changing my winter bulletin boards over to spring. Yes, yes, I know, it’s not spring yet. But I was over the snowmen and the snow (says the Californian). It was time for these cute DJ Inkers ducks . . . I just need a title. Any ideas?????
We are currently working on weather in Science. This was a little cloud activity that I stole from my friend, Christina, a million years ago. I have a love/hate relationship with this project.
Love: cotton balls and glue and art
Hate: cotton balls and glue and sticky fingers and can I wash my hands and my glue stick has cotton all over it and my fingers are sticking together and I need another cotton ball and I have no idea which kind of cloud is which because this glue smells good did you smell your glue? Mmmmmm.
Yep. It’s back. The Fun Friday Chart Make Over. Don’t ask why I decided to mess with it on a Thursday night after bible study at about 10pm.
Anywho, I was able to laminate it and cut it out properly this time. So Chart 0, Teeny 1. (Well, actually Chart 2, Teeny 1, but I’m not counting the other two times I made this chart and started over. That would make me look crazy.)
Hi, my name is Murphie. I ate all the green grass. It’s tasty. And all these toys are mine. I must have them all close to me. Have you seen my other ball? It’s white. And I buried my very expensive bully stick, and I can’t find it, and neither can Teeny.
DATE NIGHT! PF Changs! My favorite is the Honey Crispy Shrimp. We ordered way too much food, and then another waiter came over with a plate of Orange Peel Chicken and said, “Sometimes at PF Changs, we give food away. So here you go.”
It was just the two of us. The hubby and me. We were surrounded by families of three and five and seven and a big ole party on the patio. And they brought us the free food.
Apparently, they had heard of us before and knew we could eat.
And they might have felt sorry for my hubby because his date was still wearing her school spirit T-shirt, and school spirit sweatshirt, and converse shoes because she was too tired to change, and has stopped making an effort because she’s been married for way too long, and her hubby said let’s go and so she did.
So there you have it. My five for Fraturday.
How was your week? Can you think of a catchy title for my Ducky Bulletin Board? Somehow “Ducky Bulletin Board” just doesn’t have a good ring to it . . .

Your new board is very cute! I LOVE the word 'waddle' so you could have Waddling into Quacktational Work – I'm not that good at this! Sometimes I 'forget' to name my boards….

Love your new display – it's so bright! And I like Kylie and Katie's suggestions for board titles – so much more creative than mine – Waddling into Spring (or Waddling through First Grade).
And I love the idea of Fraturday. I think I have had a few Fraturdays!

Love those duckies…Splash into Spring?
Totally agree. Bye Winter. Over it. Move along. Bring on the sun and Spring. 🙂
You must find the bully stick…those are way too pricey to lose. But, they are the best for chewers! Come on Murphie… 🙂

Great read! Loved your Five for… Fraturday! Love the term, loved your PF Chang's story (wishing for PF Chang's as well as *free* food)…. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and I totally get the "over the snowmen" part, and I'm from the midwest and used to winter dragging on and on and on….

Love the ducks! Maybe it could say Mrs. _____'s Lucky Ducks, or Work to Quack about, or First Grade Feathered Friends.

Love this post. Murphie is adorable. PF Chang's is super nice to be givin' food away. Yay for you for defeating that chart!
I HATE when I am wearing my spirit shirt out in public (no public school is not considered out in public) – which usually happens cuz I'm too tired, and forget that I have it on … just ask Hadar!
Have a great remainder of Fraturday and a fabulous Sunday-way-too-close-to-Monday, too!
The Ball Babies says
"We're quackers over Spring"…hmmmm. "First grade is all it's 'quacked' up to be!"…hmmmm
"Swimming into Spring!"…Good luck! 🙂

Fun, fun post. What about showing them a little clip from
You Tube of Singing in the Rain, do a little dancing and singing, and then use "Singing into Spring" for the bulletin board?

I'd probably do something like- Waddling into Spring. I very much know what you mean about cotton balls, glue & first graders! Murphie is growing- love the puppy stage where their ears don't quite know what to do. Carol

How about "Splashing Into Spring" or "Spring is Ducky"?
I also tore…er carefully took down… my snowmen on Friday. Must be the Spring-like CA weather we've been getting!

How about "Splashing Our Way Into Spring!"??? The ducks do look like they are splashing in the puddles. And aren't we all, no matter where you are in the US right now, looking forward to Spring?

Ha, love the fraturday– and yes I'm over the winter stuff even here in Temecula. But the best is the spirit shirt and the converse. I do that too after 17 + years of blissfull marriage. :o)
Have a great week – Kristin

Don't know if anybody suggested this yet…
Spring is "Just Ducky" or First Grade is "Just Ducky" or something along those lines???
And don't feel guilty about the school spirit sweatshirt and converse. That's better than some other things you could do. For example: there are times I will go days without shaving my legs, especially if it is cold and you can wear PANTS everyday. After you've been married for 20 years and you have kids running around everywhere, some things just become WAY less important than others. Like having super soft shaved legs every day. There has to be priorities! Hope that wasn't TMI!!!! lol

Hi! I just found you via Doodle Bugs. I love the idea of doing crafty things with glue but I agree, the idea of tufts of cotton and the stickiness afterwards is a bit off-putting. Looks like a lot of fun though! Sarita
