I have no clue what day of the week it is or even what the date might possibly be, but someone told me it was Friday and so I believed them.
This post has absolutely nothing to do with teaching. But many of the pictures have teachers in them so . . . that has to count for something, right?
That’s what I thought.
I love this man.
I posted this on my personal Facebook on Father’s Day.
Oh, by the way, that’s me. Apparently, I was a child bride or something because I clearly do not look old enough to be getting married.
And that’s my dad, but I figured you knew that.
Well, my mom commented on this picture on my personal Facebook page that she has never seen this photo and that she loved it and she wanted a copy.
Even though all she really needed to do was save the picture to her phone and/or right click it and save it to her computer.
Old people can sure make me feel young.
Julie, Christina, Niki, me
I was at the spa on Tuesday . . . and all four of us are teachers in different districts and states. Christina is about to start a blog . . . I am dying for her to get it started and I am bugging her about it all the time.
Anyways, we just floated and ate and drank and talked for about six hours.
And even though we are all on summer vacation, we talked about school a lot.
So I feel as if I deserve a bonus check or something.
My breakfast view on Thursday morning
On Wednesday, I drove to the beach to meet up with some other teacher friends of mine . . . one was visiting from Kansas and the other was from Chicago and then three of us teach together at the same school and another one is in our district. Except she teaches 7th and 8th grade so that’s just weird.
Just saying. Glad it’s not me. I could never do that. Unless I was teaching 7th and 8th grade Drama. That might be fun . . .
So I spent Wednesday and Thursday lounging by the hotel pool all day . . . and eating and drinking and talking and laughing until I got the hiccups.
The hiccups were from the laughing and not from the drinking. I’m pretty sure.
Again, even though all of us are on summer vacation, we also talked about teaching and school a lot.
I need a bonus, I’m telling you.
Meghan, Carrie, Ilene, Ericca, me, Susan
Here we are getting ready to go out to dinner at 9:00 at night. NINE O’CLOCK AT NIGHT!!! This was because we had moved from the pool to the hot tub and we didn’t realize the time until the sun started to set . . . did you know it is really hard work lounging? You forget about time and everything.
Anywho, you might notice (since I pointed it out with an arrow) that I am standing on the van’s step in this picture.
My friend Ericca is six feet tall. As soon as we got positioned next to each other, we both blurted out:
Ericca: I can’t stand next to Kristin!
Me: I can’t stand next to Ericca!
So I fixed that by standing on the step, but I still look absolutely ridiculous and like I’m tagging along with my big sisters and/or they kidnapped me.
We started to fade pretty fast during dinner so afterwards we just went back to the hotel, got ready for bed, turned out the lights, and talked until we fell asleep.
I love my friends!
I imagine everyone loves their friends or why else would they be friends, but I felt like writing that anyway. Plus it’s true.
I found a new sunscreen! Niki and Julie (the spa girls) both had this and then I pretty much used it for the rest of the day even though I had brought two perfectly good suntan lotions. But they weren’t THIS!
This stuff SHIMMERS and it smells SO GOOD! It also comes in an SPF 50. Let’s not go over how anything over 30 doesn’t work and blah blah blah because I like that it says 50 so I wear the 50 anyway. I’ve also been known to wear the 100, but it looks like I have pancake mix on my face and that just leads to lots of comments, such as “You have a little something right here” and so I rub randomly, and then that leads to “And a little something there” and so on. I have to rub and rub and rub.
It’s exhausting, especially because when I’m wearing sunscreen, I don’t like to do any work.
But I like that it says 100 because it makes me feel as if I have really good coverage.
However, this Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch stuff is AMAZING. It’s practically invisible. I’m not kidding. I used the 50 this week. Plus I smelled good, too, and I SHIMMERED.
I bet I looked like a mermaid with my June Jiggle.
Seriously, get some.
And I’m not being paid to promote this product, but I do need a bonus for all of the teacher talk I’ve been doing, so if you know someone who will pay me for promoting this product, go ahead and HOOK ME UP. ๐
That was my week.
Now my hubby’s family is here from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee (really!) so I better go “visit” as they say. They are the ones actually visiting, but I guess when you sit around and talk, it is also called visiting.
I tend to call that lounging and relaxing and doing absolutely nothing, but like I said, you say potato, and I say french fry.
Kerry gets here Monday!
I’m living the dream, people. LIVING THE DREAM.

You ARE living the dream! I'm getting that sunscreen. Do they make it in SPF 200?

I was about to be jealous about all the lounging and eating and lounging and drinking but then I realized I too am living the dream…at the river! I only wish the minutes didn't pass so quickly… enjoy! ๐

At this line, I was laughing to the point of tears: "I've also been known to wear the 100, but it looks like I have pancake mix on my face…" At some point tomorrow, that line is going to pop into my head, and it is going to be a laugh-fest all over again (I hope I am not in church or some other you-should-be-quiet place). My TeenyTinyFriend, you make my heart happy!

I had the same thing today when I realized that Five for Fridays were popping up and I thought "What? It's Friday??!?". BEST feeling ever.
And I can second your recommendation of the Sheer Touch sunscreen. It's what I use too, and I love it! Want another awesome Hawaiian Tropic product? Try this after sun lotion: http://www.hawaiiantropic.com/AfterSun/AfterSun.aspx#8889. It smells AMAZING. Love love love.
Happy weekend!

I love that hotel! I went there for Thanksgiving with family. You can definitely lose track of time easily. Looks like it was so much fun!

You failed to mention the Kershaw no hitter as part of your week….probably too distracted with all the teacher talk. Glad you are enjoying summer.
