Happy Saturday!!
It was a year ago this week that Jon Jon passed away. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that it’s been a year since we lost him. I pray for his family every single day.
His great grandma passed away yesterday, and his family says they know Jon Jon greeted her with open arms.
If you remember, please pray for his family as they continue to go through this difficult journey.
I do not have a picture for this one.
Because I don’t know how to take a selfie while I’m sleeping.
And I’ve done a lot of that this week on my Spring Break.
A lot, a lot, a lot.
I sure do love me some sleep.
I am in love with this book.
I am about halfway through it and I do not want it to end.
Now I need everyone else to read it, too. I have been telling Steve all about it because he is kind of my Ove. Really. This grumpy old man reminds me of Steve on almost every page.
Read this book.
Really.
Please.
And then let’s talk about it.
And then let’s make sure someone makes a movie based on it.
And then we can all go see it and eat popcorn and junior mints. Or Milk Duds. Or Hot Tamales.
GO READ THIS BOOK.
This cracked me up!!!! We are going on our field trip in a few weeks, but instead of counting my kids by 2s to 26, I’ll be counting to 30. And that’s only if I don’t get any more new students (I just got another one).
I love field trips. And I hate them.
And that’s all there is to that.
Steve and I went away for Spring Break (we are actually still gone!) and we are having the best time. I’ll tell you all about it and share some more pics later this week.
Enjoy your weekend!

I just read the plot synopsis on amazon for your A Man Called Ove. I’m all for book reccomendations! However, this book sounds suspiciously like the plot from Up…
Please confirm! Up made me cry terribly, and I have no desire to cry more.

It might make you cry . . . but you will laugh and laugh, too!!

LOVED ‘A Man Called Ove;. I’m not a crier, but I wept through the end, so be forewarned. And I’m married to a kinda-sorta Ove, too.

Hey!
Ok, so you sold me on the book. I’ll be getting that soon! My class for grad school just ended and I have a whole MONTH until the next one, which, coincidentally is my LAST ONE! Can I get an Amen??
Ok – I saw that SAME post on IG and DIED!!! I showed it to my team at school and they were like, “YUP!!! That’s it!” Genius.
On a final and serious note, I will pray for Jon Jon and his family. It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. My friend lost her 1 year old two years ago…it was/is awful. She was precious!!!
Hope to get to see you at the conference again this year! Will you be there?

I’m either really easy or you are very persuasive, but I ordered that book on Amazon Prime as soon as I read your post! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m always looking for great books to read and to recommend for book club. Yes, I am a geeky reader who belongs to a book club. 🙂

I’m generally a children’s book addict, but I’ll have to check out this book. I think I have 5 in my Amazon cart right now from all of the teacher recommendations I’ve seen.
I’ll be praying for Jon Jon’s family. I can’t imagine the heartache.

Dear Kristin,
I’m a German teacher and I love to read your blog.
When I spent the afternoon in town with my kids, I spotted a movie poster of the Ove-film! It says “Nr 1 Hit from Sweden.”
I try to send a picture via Email.
Hope you still enjoy your spring break!
We start school again tomorrow!
Best wishes, Daniela

“I love field trips. And I hate them” pretty much sums it up, lol. They certainly are always eventful!
