I posted over on Farley’s blog yesterday. I failed to write about it here on my own blog because I was recovering from The Wind and the Day of The Wind and the Inclement Weather because of The Wind.
Yesterday was a much much much better day. This could be for two reasons.
First, after I had the Day of The Wind and blogged about the Day of the Wind, I went to bible study.
I suppose I could have handled everything a little bit better. If bible study doesn’t put things in perspective, I don’t know what does (maybe Survivor).
And then, earlier in the week, our assistant principal was my “sub” when I had to step out for an IEP. I ignored her in the beginning because I thought she was just “walking through” but it turns out there was a big mishap (HUGE) and she would be my sub. We were reading “Moving Day” in our Fidelity Curriculum which is about a hermit crab. Well . . . turns out A.P. has a hermit crab named Pop Tart (cute!), and she brought him to school yesterday to share with my class.
Best part? In order to get that hermit crab to come out of his shell and walk around, we had to be quiet. SUPER QUIET. Not even a rustle, burp, or fart. NOTHING. It took about five WHOLE minutes for that hermit crab to come out and then he walked around. It was THE BEST FIVE MINUTES of the year. I think I need to get A.P. a gift. Especially because one of my rambunctious, no self control, never shuts up enthusiastic and eager boys actually complied. It was a Christmas miracle!!!!!
So . . . I’m recovered. It was touch and go there for awhile but I pulled through.
I’m a day late but I wanted to let you know that I was over on Farley’s blog yesterday giving away another gift card! I know! I must be getting paid the big bucks!!!!! 🙂 I wish I could give away some amazing unit that I created but it turns out that I have no such thing. Huh.
I’m going to send you over there right now to check it out so you can enter.

Well, I already entered…I'm quick like that. Glad you recovered…prayer puts things into perspective, doesn't it? We went to church for the first time in…too long…last Sunday and felt SO peaceful afterward.

That is too funny about the hermit crab but I have been there and done that. Our crab was named Crabzilla because he had an ENORMOUS blueish front pincher. I told my kiddos that he could tell who each one of them was by their voice, just like me and that he might pinch them if they were too loud. I never let them hold him because that really COULD happen. And, yes, I was a very bad teacher for saying that but I told them that making loud noises was being a bucket dipper to Crabzilla. They did not want to do that! =)
I know you have tons of CUTE activities that you could giveaway!
I don't have "units" to giveaway either. That is why I am giving away those adorable shirts on my blog right now!

Ugghhhh…Branden ANNOYS ME SO BADLY! I'm sorry, but he is a hypocrite! Maybe I might be one too, since I prayed for him to get kicked off survivor. Necessary? Yes. Superficial prayer? Absolutely.
I love Rick :). He's a cowboy from Utah {how can you not love him} and he's not annoying. HA!

Oh my you crack me up!!! Everytime I read your blog I start laughing out loud and then my husband thinks I'm crazy or losing my mind or both…and asks "WHAT?"…then I have to try to explain to him you and your funny, funny posts…but he's not a teacher so some of it that I think is hilarious he doesn't get…oh well! Thanks for the smiles;)

God bless you Kristin, you speak my language..the language of a primary teacher.
PS I find it amusing that this post is about wild, strong wind vs not breaking wind. {Yes, I am THAT immature.}

I loved the story Moving Day when I taught 1st grade HM. Now I teach kindergarten and our stories aren't nearly as cool.
We are having WIND now too, seriously it's so stinkin' loud! The WIND on top of the warm temps during the day, the rain, and freezing temps at night are making for fun driving (and the possibility of no school tomorrow)

I get so excited when I see a new post from you :)!! You make me laugh!! I'm glad that your Bible study helped. It always helps to get our focus in the right place :). OK…I'm totally rooting for Ozzie now…I really don't have a favorite this season. Bradon and Cochran are need to join the jury.
