Good morning. Hello. Are you off tomorrow? I am.
Smile. Beam. Grin.
I believe I am still full from our Ruth’s Chris dinner. I was so full that I thought of just spending the night in one of their booths. In the interest of keeping this blog all about food, let me tell you what I ate. Ready?
Wine.
Bread. With butter. Because, in my world, there is no other kind unless it comes with cheese and garlic, or olive oil and balsamic, or some sort of special sauce that the restaurant is known for.
Ravioli appetizer that I think had lamb in it, but let’s not talk about the cute little lamb and focus on the sauce instead. Dee-lish, I tell you, and it paired perfectly with the bread when we ran out of butter.
Lobster Bisque soup.
Lobster Tail and Filet. Although I wasn’t a fan of the filet . . . not sure why . . . I usually am. Hmmmm.
We brought our dessert home because we didn’t want the waiter to think we were real, live, actual pigs.
So today will be church and recovery.
Also, I have great news!
I DID IT! I finished First Grade Morning Work Part 3 {Daily Language Arts and Math Review}!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hallelujah! It was a beast!
I still don’t know why it was such a beast. I don’t know if it’s because I was supposed to start over Winter Break and didn’t, or because I said I would work on two pages a night and I didn’t, or if I just feel that the third trimester of first grade is too hard and I should really be teaching kindergarten, or what. But it practically killed me.
And I am just about out of my First Grade Morning Work Part 2 pages and I need something to put on my kids’ desks in the morning so I can drink my coffee and figure out what I’m going to do for the whole livelong day I can take attendance and get our day started off on the right foot.
Part 3 covers a ton of different Common Core standards.
Students will:
Identify and underline root words.
Add endings to root words to make new words.
Write root words.
Write missing letters to complete words. (bossy e, ee, ea, oa, ow, ai, ay, ou, ow, ar, ir, and ur)
Write words to match pictures. (bossy e, ee, ea, oa, ow, ai, ay, ou, ow, ar, ir, and ur)
Choose words that best fit in a specific category.
Edit telling and asking sentences by using correct capitalization, punctuation, correct verb tense, capitalizing proper nouns, using possessives, and correct spelling.
Write a sentence to go with a picture.
Identify nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Order words into a complete sentence.
Identify antonyms and synonyms for a given word.
Choose a word that best completes the sentence.
Practice reading fluency.
Identify complete sentences.
Divide words into syllables.
Practice sight words.
Tell time to the hour and half hour.
Write the number of tens and ones.
Use data to complete a graph and answer questions.
Tally.
Write numbers that come before, after, and between two-digit numbers up to 120.
Compare numbers up to 120 using the symbols >,<, or =.
Find 10 more than and 10 less than a given number up to 120.
Identify and draw solid shapes.
Read clues about a specific solidβs attributes and identify the solid according to those attributes.
I know!!!!!
What in the world? How am I going to teach all of that?
