I did.
I took a picture on Instagram. You’re welcome.
Now, I believe Instagram is for people who don’t want to do a lot of reading and/or getting to know people and what they’re up to. I’m sure it also cuts down on the Fake Life That Some People Have On Facebook In Which Everything Is Rainbows And Lollipops And A Chocolate Fountain.
But it’s hard for me because I took this picture and I really want to talk about it. So I’m going to.

That Cracker Jacks box and ticket were in my box today at school. It’s for our Teacher Appreciation Luncheon that our PTA graciously hosts each year. How adorable is this theme? And that ticket????? It looks really REAL. I’ll be sporting my Dodgers gear that day (even though they lost to the Rockies yesterday 12-2, and I would have been upset except the Real Housewives were on so it didn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things) and working up a huge appetite. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE our PTA. They go above and beyond in all things, not just during our Teacher Appreciation Week.
I was wondering if your school has a PTA that hosts a luncheon for you during Teacher Appreciation . . . and, if so, are all of the support staff included in that luncheon such as secretaries, lunch personnel, and Watch Dogs. Ours are also always invited.
Sometimes, when we are about to run out of dessert, this can slightly bother me. But that’s usually only because our Classified Week is prior to Teacher’s Appreciation, and we are never ever ever invited to their luncheon. Ever. In fact, we have been told on occasion, “This is NOT for you.” Even though a grade level (or two) are responsible for hosting it.
Oh my word, I think, geez. I was just looking at the donuts. And the french fries. And the pizza. And the gift cards. That’s all. Just looking.
I’m thinking the baseball theme for next week is going to include some kind of yummy dessert like a churro or ice cream or possibly churros dipped in ice cream. I’m just hoping we don’t run out, is all.
I’m just saying.

Now I am going to go LOOK at a million pictures on Instagram by searching #teachertalktuesday. I can’t wait! Although I’m probably going to need to talk about some of the pictures. Obviously.
We have teacher appreciation next week, too. Our PTA is awesome and has food for us every day – each day is a different thing like desserts, breakfast, a lunch, etc. Anyone in the school can get the stuff I guess, but we don't have a classified appreciation week. But we don't have a luncheon…we still eat with our kids. We just get to listen to them ask why teachers get all the good stuff. And all the food (though wonderful) has caused some of us to rename it "Weight Gain Week."

Last year…on the Monday of Teacher Appreciation Week…our PTA sent the announcement memo to our mailboxes that they had disbanded.
I'd take the shared dessert.
Happy Teacher Week to you!

I saw your pic on InstaMania and was curious – what a great perk for Teacher Appreciation week. Today we already had soda and donuts in the lounge, and gift cards to Panera in our mailboxes. We think they got the date wrong?
One year the parents washed all of our cars! We loved it!

We have THE BEST PTA! I am taking a picture tomorrow to show you. They did a sports theme this year and each day we get something special! So fun!
We have an AWESOME PTO. We get very spoiled ๐ We'll get something special in our mailbox everyday next week. Then on Friday we'll get a very nice gift (usually money) and a catered lunch!
PS- I like Instagram, but I don't use it much!!! #sometimesforgetsaboutinstagram

Love this post. For those of us who rock an old school blackberry and do not have instagram (waaah) this post made my day. While it's possible to stalk instagram pictures online I feel much less creepy when they're attached to blog posts and stories.
Plus you're funny. Even though I leave your posts needing sweets and might possibly be gaining weight simply by being a follower haha, you're always funny.
Enjoy Teacher Appreciation Week! You deserve it.

That's awesome! I'm jealous!
Our VPFA is AWESOME. Next week is Teacher appreciation week for us. THey work out with the Room parents to have the students bring in flowers, notes, snacks, treats, and needed end of the year classroom supplies throughout the week.
The VPFA also has one morning with Breakfast for us, another day they provide lunch, and then just because, we have a dessert day.
Then on top of that–our principal puts a different candy bar in our boxes each day with some inspirational note that keys in the name of the candy bar (100 Grand Bar–"you are worth a Grand to us")
We have a PTO, but they ususally give us a mint or something with a tag that says "Thanks for your commit-mint!" I might need to move to your school!!

We have a fantabulous absolutely wonderful outrageously generous PTA…. did I mention I am the PTA President at our school? My children attended while I was still a stay at home mom, so I was President… they have so little parental involvement that I took it back over this year even though my children are now in middle school. We provide a luncheon on Friday for the entire staff. It used to be just for the teachers but when I took over I asked that all staff be included because we operate on a tight budget and cannot afford to show our appreciation for each job classification (ie custodians, nurses, secretaries etc) I hope our teachers feel we do a great job… they either do or they stay quiet because I am one of them now.. hahahaha
We have only 2 parents who sit on our parent council. We have never had any teacher appreciation events, but often get candy bars and notes from our administration ๐ enjoy your lunch!
Our PTA is amazing. They do teacher appreciation week the week of our conferences. Each day we have either a brunch at recess or a full lunch. You would also love our candy bar that they keep filled all week!! We also have a drawing where they call 6 teacher's names each morning and we run and yell all the way to the office (between cheering students and other teachers) to get our prize. It used to be to choose a gift from the window but now it is a gift card in a cute cup or bag for Staples. It is a lot of fun. Besides our wonderful week, we only have one fund raiser, a Kick-a-Thon, where every child and teacher kicks a soccer ball and gets a mph score. They raised $35,000 last year and our principal had to have green hair. They pay for all our field trips, assemblies, bookmark parties, laminating film, extra time for our librarian, money for new books, and so much more!! We truly are spoiled and very lucky.
We get Teacher Appreciation Day…not a week a DAY! And definitely not allowed to other group's days! We do have a fabulous PTA that supports us in all kinds of ways….teacher classroom funds, field trips, that kind of stuff.
