It was supposed to rain today.
But it didn’t start raining until dismissal. And then it really rained. I’m not talking sprinkles or drizzles or spit. I’m talking rain rain. It wasn’t exactly pouring, but it was RAIN. I know rain because I grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. This was real rain. Not the rain that Californians say is rain and causes all the traffic.
Real rain. At dismissal.
And today was my day to walk the kids to the back gate. If you need a map to see how far away the back gate is from my classroom, you can click {HERE}. Apparently, I told a story once and needed you all to have a visual in order to make myself clear so there you go. I often do this in real life, too. Typically, when I’m in a friend’s classroom and I’m telling a story, I always feel the need to draw my story out or explain it better or whathaveyou, and so I use their whiteboard. And then I almost inevitably say that their expo markers are yucky. I have a high standard when it comes to expo markers.
Anywho, I walked the kids ALL the way to the back gate and by the time I returned to my classroom, my socks were squishing around in my shoes.
INSERT BIG SAD POUTY FACE HERE.
I got over it, though, because the hubs made a big pot of chili and grilled cheese with . . . wait for it . . . . . . . bacon! I also took a hot bath because I am a big fat baby.
And now I have a lot of work to do seeing as how my report cards are due in a couple of days and I’m going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow night.
But, before I go check some blogs and procrastinate on my report cards some more, I want to share my Shape Scarecrows with you! I gave you a sneak peek on Instagram (oh, I’ve sort of failed in that department and I just now remembered that I’m supposed to be instagramming a picture a day, dangit) if you remember.
