Okay, actually, the first day of school is exactly four weeks from today and I can’t get over the fact that it starts on a Monday. A MONDAY. I have not started school on a Monday since . . . well, possibly never. I can’t remember if I have ever started school on a Monday. I almost always start on a Wednesday and in a couple of instances, a Thursday.
But a Monday? Seriously? A MONDAY!? That is cruel and unusual punishment, especially because our kinder is still a half-day program so my new first graders will be with me ALL DAY for AN ENTIRE WEEK and not only that but, people, OUR WEDNESDAY EARLY DISMISSAL DAY IS NOT AN EARLY DISMISSAL DAY THE FIRST WEEK.
My tummy hurts.
Not to mention, I am still sick. I don’t know what I’ve got. It’s probably just your common cold, but seeing as how I rarely get sick (yes, rarely!), I feel the need to moan and groan about it and gain as much sympathy as possible.
In any case, I’m going to stay in my pajamas all day today (it helps that it’s cloudy and overcast), recover from Vegas (post coming soon!), nurse my cold, and maybe start printing some Back to School stuff. Because that doesn’t take too much energy.
Anywho, it’s true. I’m thinking about Back to School whether I want to or not. I can’t help it. It’s on my brain.
