Hey people! I’m finally joining up with Farley this month. It’s been awhile.
Here’s what I’m up to this month:
Listening: Nothing is on right now. So I’ve got “Something Borrowed” playing in the background. I loved the book — and “Something Blue”, too. If you haven’t read them, they’re by Emily Giffin and an easy read. You will not cry like the last book I recommended. Well, unless your best friend stole away your groom right before your wedding. Then this movie might hit too close to home. (I’m experienced in this type of situation, you might remember. Click {here} to read all about my love story.)
Loving: I am loving Spring Break. Duh.
Thinking: Yes, I had See’s Candy for breakfast. I got a pound of Nuts and Chews from my niece’s fundraiser. And I’m not supposed to eat nuts and chews right now, but I can’t help it. It’s nuts and chews, people. The biggest problem? I should have ordered a TWO POUND box.
Wanting: I want the stitches out of my mouth NOW. Obviously. I got the stitches removed from my palate, but I still have them in my lower gums. They are seriously cramping my style and chewing on a caramel is just NOT the same.
But Mr. Perio said that my palate healed really nicely and that my graft is exceeding his expectations.
And I didn’t get in trouble for the chips I’d eaten the night before, or the alcohol I’d consumed at my family gathering. He had no idea! So I felt like that was a big ole green light for nuts and chews. I speak Periodontist, don’t you know.
Needing: I’m just too lazy to go to the tailor’s. It would require a lot of energy that I just do not have seeing as how it’s Spring Break and all. But I do want to wear the pants next week . . . they are white and they have good back pockets. I have a thing with back pockets. I do not like pants with fake back pockets. Or just a slit as a back pocket. They are not attractive on my butt. I’m just saying. My new pants have a flap pocket WITH a button.
SCORE!
Advice: When it comes to blogging, just be yourself. I hear there are a lot of rules to teacher blogging. I follow one – I only blog once a day. But I don’t know where that rule came from and whether or not I’d be in danger of prison time if I broke it. But I do abide by it. Just in case.
But other than that — I’m just myself. Sometimes I talk about teaching. Sometimes I talk about dating shows. And sometimes I talk about personal issues like mammograms. I like to tell stories. I like to use “quotes”. I like to say “don’t you know” and “just saying” and “tho thad!”
If you try too hard to be someone that you’re not, I think it’s going to come across in the post.
Let’s do an example for fun. This just came to me right now as I was typing. BRAINSTORM! GAME SHOW!
Ready?
Okay, I’m going to write two scenarios. Neither are true. But reply in the comments with which one sounds like my typical blog post. Me — just being myself.
I’ll pick a random comment tomorrow and you can pick anything from my store and win $10 to TpT, Amazon, or Starbucks. Your choice. Because I’m crazy. And this is fun. Haha! Don’t forget to leave your email address so I can contact you!
A) Today at school, my sugarplums were so cute. One little cherub told me that she liked my outfit. I patted her little head and a rainbow came out at that exact time even though it wasn’t raining. It was magical. I just heart teaching.
B) Today at school, my little rascals wouldnotstoptalking. But the good news is that only one kid threw up on me, and only two kids peed while they were at centers. Seven more weeks til summer. That’s all I could say when I called the office for backup. Seven more weeks til summer.
Let’s see if you know me. ๐
Mrs Poultney says
Ummmm, I am going to say, this is a hard one to pick….maybe the scond one? But man I would have loved to have seen a rainbow come out ofsomeone's head!
PS I use double sided tape to hem pants if I can't fold them under or I can't be bothered hemming!

As a long time lurker, I know the answer is B, but students with good fashion sense are hard to come by so they should be rewarded with rainbows when the appear.
My first grade class is filled with couture like: high-water pants (Yes teacher, they are a 3T, but they still fit me!) and a favorite kitty cat shirt that is stained with chocolate milk on the front and nasal discharge on the sleeve…
Enjoy your Spring Break!
