Hello all! Everybody hold your horses — I’m about to go to the mall.
I know. I’ve lost my marbles and wherewithalls.
But I’m hoping no one will be there, what with it being a Tuesday and all. Who would go to the mall on a Tuesday? And eat at Ruby’s? No one. It’s just going to be the hubby and me, and we are going to be able to find front row parking, and we will have the whole place to ourselves.
Well.
A girl can dream.
We have to look for clothes for the hubby’s work party. It says on the invitation to dress like you are going out.
People, to me, that basically just means I can’t wear my pajamas. Dress like I’m going out? Going out where? The grocery store? The park with Murphie? School?
Dress like I’m going out? As in, to a club?
Um. Yeah. No.
I do not have those kind of clothes.
I have leggings and cardigans and scarves and boots now. I want to wear that.
Can I wear that?
Or can I wear a dress with leggings and cardigans and scarves and boots? I want to wear that.
I need something that covers up the lack of tan-ness and lack of exercise-ness going on.
Please advise.
Really.
Advise me.
And no, I will not wear something that shows my cleavage.
I don’t have any.
In other news, all but one of our Family Winter Tree Projects were turned in. So I took some pics for your viewing pleasure.
Love these! I’ve already gotten a lot of compliments about these. By a lot, I mean one.
But my kids cannot stop perusing our Winter Tree Farm. If I can’t find someone, they’re over by this bulletin board oohing and ahhing or having a snack of pretzels or sweet tarts or dry cereal.
If you missed the post about this, click {HERE}. There are some freebies for you, too.
I have not picked a name for my Journal Entry Weekly Sharing Topic Thingamajig just yet, but I am loving what you all are coming up with. And I will be sure to share a fun entry with you later this week.
Or on the weekend.
For sure.

Okay. Off I go to the empty mall!!
You are cracking me up! I haven't been "out" since like 2009! I am sure you will look great. Post some pictures.

Ohh ahh, miss those trees…great job! Hope the mall went well, miss you!
Happy shopping!!! I LOVE those trees!
Wow – you have some creative families! Those trees look amazing. I have to say, though, I've never thought to put pretzels on my Christmas tree!
Love to Learn
Your trees look great! I did this project, too-thanks for the freebie. Now I have to think of award names for them all!
How cute are those!! I love that it was a family activity as well. I snagged your freebie for my class next year. I appreciate that your letter to families refers to them as winter trees so I don't have to worry about excluding some of our families that don't celebrate Christmas specifically.

haha….the letter I send home for our trees is "and remember – no food please! We don't want to invite our friends the cockroaches to our classroom." haha!! so there will be NO pretzel trees…or gumdrop trees in our class! ๐
The pretzel tree is really cute! I love the way you display the trees so they look like their in the snow. It looks very pretty!

First Grade Found Me
I wish that I had seen this post in early November, but I just recently discovered your delightful blog and therefore will have to file the winter tree farm idea away until next year! I love it!
Also, wear a tunic dress, leggings, a snazzy sparkly holiday scarf, and a pair of kick ass boots to the party! Don't you just love to say "kick ass?" Do NOT say it in front of your students though! HA!
Also, I read your posts religiously! I love that they are often irreverent, very down-to-earth, and hilariously funny! Thank you for all of the above!

Those trees are awesome! Hope you had some good luck at the mall! Post some pics of your shopping!
Ha! You should come on over to my blog and see my fashion advice Kristin – apparently I know how to dress like a 6 year old. I can give you great advice… LOL

I went to the mall this week. All I bought was a hot pretzel and a cookie! Consequently, I have no advice on fashion (because I share your "wardrobe genres.") And the pretzel + cookie adventure may have eliminated my only dress-up option. Sending hugs to you, my DEAR buddy!

Finding JOY in 6th Grade
PS Loved the trees! We are required to be "holiday neutral." No trees allowed! Crazy, yes?
We need to go out to coffee soon… and let's be crazy and wear pajamas!
Hoping you had success at the mall. Hoping you'll let us peek at what you ended up choosing! Love your tree projects!!
