Happy Happy Saturday! I’ve been looking forward to today for a long while now. I’m headed to the desert with a few girlfriends of mine for a weekend getaway! We are going to eat and shop and talk talk talk talk talk! ๐
One more step in switching to Word Press. This is something new for my Facebook page. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and I’m a bit obsessed with it. Becca at Jumping Jax Designs is so talented!
I mean, is it just me, or couldn’t you just stare at it all day?
How annoying am I?
I’m driving myself crazy because I visit the page several times a day just to look at it.
That’s pretty annoying, if you ask me.
We decorated Jon Jon’s tree with hearts for February (and Valentine’s Day). Aren’t these hearts the cutest? My partner, Laurie, found them on Amazon. We both bought some and we were able to decorate the bottom half of the tree. And then Mr. C. got a ladder and helped finish off the top. We bought all the ones left in stock so now they are not available . . . sorry about that!
We already have decorations for March. I love that our PTA moms got this going in December because now we want to decorate it every month.
I started working on this post at 1:15am.
A.M.
!!!!!
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK!
!!!!!
I cannot sleep. This is not normal for me. It almost never happens.
I love sleep. I love my bed. I love sleeping in my bed. (This sounds like it could be a guided reading book for emergent readers)
You might remember that last weekend I was asleep by 8:30pm and slept for almost twelve hours. And I was not ashamed.
I have no idea where this non-sleeping is coming from, but after tossing and turning for three hours, (I went to bed at 10:00 – my normal routine!) I finally gave up and started this post. I thought I could get a head start.
I might as well. It’s not like I’M SLEEPING OR ANYTHING!
Growl.
Do you ever suffer from insomnia? I can’t take it.
Back in November, I told you that I read this book:
And then I told you to read it.
Have you?
It is so good!!!!!!
AND JUST RECENTLY . . . Kaci of Mrs. Hoffer’s Spot mentioned that it’s going to be a movie!!!!
LOOK AT THIS TRAILER!
(This is the actor who plays Finnick in Catching Fire and Mocking Jay!)
And, if the release date is to be believed, it comes out on June 3. Which just so happens to be the birthday of Yours Truly.
I guess I know what I’ll be doing! ๐
Seriously, if you’re looking for a good book to read, here you go!
This little girl’s birthday is in June so we had her pretend birthday this week.
She gets to take home Biscuit.
That’s why he’s watching them play the game.
He was also referee if there were any arguments. ๐
You can click {HERE} to see how I do birthdays in my classroom.
We are all about place value in first grade right now!
This is a tens and ones game that my kids are obsessed with. I will come back later this week to explain how easy it is to play. You probably already know all about it!
But as for now . . . I’m off to the desert!!!
Have a great weekend!

I love your blog, 1st things 1st!
I'm going out to get the book tomorrow's, I've been looking for a book. Here's an easy bd activity that the kids live! Write up the birthday song on sentence strips, sing it once the right way, then cut each line into individual words and mix each line up! The kids love singing the mixed up version!!
