Hello Three Day Weekend! I know I don’t necessarily need a long weekend, considering this was my first week back after a three week break, but I’m happy to take it. I’m taking it. I’m happy.
When I sat down to go through the pictures on my phone to figure out what I should highlight from my week, I didn’t have much.
I had Talk About It Tuesday pictures and Martin Luther King, Jr activity pictures. And not very much else. I think it’s because it was my first week back after break and I was just surviving the early wake ups.
So let’s see here.
I know. It’s such a dark picture. And Murphie is practically camouflaged with all of the beige and brown of the blanket and pillow and couch.
But this is the perfect representation of me every night this week. It’s been super wintery here, and by that, I mean that it’s been gray and cloudy and in the 40s when I wake up, and the highs have only been in the 60s. It is majorly wintery here in California and we are all wearing boots and scarves and blowing on our hands and stomping our feet.
I am loving it, but it makes it hard to get out of bed.
And to go outside.
Another day, the other side of the couch, another blanket.
I am obsessed with taking pictures of Murphie when she looks adorable. That’s quite often, actually, and I drive her crazy.
But seriously, this was me every night this week. After school, I play with Murphie in the backyard. We have this whole big routine and if we don’t do it, I will never hear the end of it. For real. She is a very vocal German Shepherd and is almost never quiet.
All week, I made a cup of coffee, took her out back, kicked the soccer ball all over the yard so she could “herd” it, and then after about a good forty-five minutes, she would finally be worn out.
We do this summer, spring, winter, fall — it doesn’t matter. We also do this every single morning before school, but only for about twenty minutes. It’s our thing.
Either way, I was frozen to the bone this week in the backyard, and when we came inside, we got on the couch and cuddled up.
I’m hoping to be more productive this coming week.
Let’s all hope the temperature gets up into the seventies so I can wear a lighter jacket. ๐
We worked on the cutest art project this week from Lyndsey Kuster! It’s a freebie in her store so be sure to grab it if you like the looks of it. I kept seeing it all over Facebook and Instagram and decided I had to do it.
I cracked up when I saw my kids gathered by the board after they were hung up during their recess time. I have little clips on each background paper of the bulletin board so it makes it super easy to hang up new stuff. I also have an aide for a student with special needs, and she hung them all up for me when the student was pulled out for something.
Either way, it goes pretty fast when you’re not the one hanging up the art projects. ๐
Anyways, I just thought the picture of them looking up with their heads back at the project of themselves looking up with their heads back was too cute!!
I am IN LOVE WITH IT!!!! It’s hard to see, but we used white crayons to draw our snowflakes. And Lyndsey suggests using scrapbook paper for the scarves, but I didn’t have any scrapbook paper, and seeing as how I wasn’t going to get out of the car and into the cold to run errands after school, I wasn’t going to buy any, either.
Instead, my teammates and I ran the scarves on white so that they could color the scarf any color they wanted. I loved all of the polka dots and stripes and plaid . . . they were super creative!
This weekend, I am working on being lazy, getting some laundry done, going to church, going on walks with Murphie and Steve (wish me luck – it’s still cold!), and Plays with Three Characters for Any Time of the Year.
It will be added to this growing bundle very soon and then the price will go up! So grab it now if you’re thinking about it! ๐
Have a happy Saturday!

I have to smile, your kiddos are dressed up like mine only our highs are in the 20's. When we have 40's the kids want to go out without coats because it's "hot"?.

We made that same craft, and I agree – it's just one of the cutest ever! I found these silver snowflakes on amazon (1,000 of them for $6.99! – you've gotta love Amazon Prime!) and they look so darn adorable! You can see them better than white crayon! Check them out! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HL2X0M0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
