We are babysitting a dog.
It’s the hubby’s aunt’s dog. Her name is Dakota and she is an Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix. I didn’t sleep good, let me tell you that. Murphie and Dakota have become fast friends and decided to play a lot, rather than sleep. It was a virtual slumber party over here without the snacks.
They just now crashed. They are both on the couch, making the same “I’m so tired” noises and neither one of them left room for me.
Hmmph.
Here are five pictures from my week.
I don’t know if you remember, but I once told you that I would love an office of my own. But I don’t have one. I work at the top of my stairs. Which, if you also remember, used to have disgusting carpet that had lots and lots of poop and pee and throw up on it due to these creatures in my life that I call my fur babies. It was also the lowest of the low with the lowest padding ever called CONCRETE so it wasn’t comfortable at all.
Now I have this new carpet which is basically like a mattress because it’s so thick and lush and I can jump on it like a trampoline. So now I work up here and proceed to fall asleep, what with all of the jumping and lushness of a mattress.
That armoire houses all of my office stuff, plus other stuff, and it is not suitable for showing because I could barely get the doors to close. You are not allowed to look in there for fear your eyes might burn.
I know what a trash can is. But do you see one in my office? Me either. That’s part of the problem.
Oh look. A fur baby. She loves being outside more than anything else in the world. This particular night, she was so tired she didn’t make it all the way out.
I cracked up. And then took a picture. I am her mommy, after all.
Well, there’s my typical dinner. I just made it look fancy for you.
Just kidding. (Well, it’s my typical dinner, but that basket of stuff isn’t for me.)
One of my co-workers is having major surgery so four of us went in on this together. We got her the softest robe imaginable, two sets of pajamas, and then all sorts of snacks and magazines and gift cards. We hope it makes her feel better and loved! Sometimes, she reads my blog so if you are reading this, WE LOVE YOU!
Crystal at Kreative in Kinder posted a link on her Facebook Page about this blogger, Jen Hatmaker. I clicked it and that was the end. I am now obsessed with this blogger and want to meet her and want to be besties with her. Click on the pic to read the most hilarious post I have read in a long time. I was dying! I was crying and slapping my knee and telling anyone who would listen that her writing style was amazing and I want to be like her when I grow up.
It also just so happens that she is a Christian author and speaker, is married to a pastor, and has five kids, two of which she adopted from Ethiopia.
I think I’m on the right track to being like her when I grow up. I am a Christian teacher who speaks to whoever whenever, I’m married, and I adopted a puppy from Orange County.
The similarities are obvious, no?
HELLO, FALL!!!!!
I love Fall! And I know you don’t need to capitalize the names of the seasons, but I love Fall and I think it deserves the capital letter so just pipe down already, you grammar people.
I have never had a Pumpkin Spice Latte. But they’re everywhere and everyone is talking about them so I am thinking tomorrow is the day.
Today, I had a peppermint white mocha, nonfat, with whip, stirred. I don’t think you’re supposed to order it like that because the server said it back to me in a completely different way with a bit of a tude.
I wanted to say, “Hey there, Miss Barista. I am paying you $3.75 for this and if you want my quarter in your tip jar, you’ll just be quiet already.”
But I didn’t. Shushing one person this week was enough.
How was your week?

You MUST get a Pumpkin Spice Latte today. Get it from Starbucks (not DD) and get the whip! You so deserve it! I enjoyed reading Jen's blog. I took one quick dip into the comments and wanted to SCREAM!!! Some of those homeschooling moms can be so OVER THE TOP! Jen is SO funny and has such a great writing style. I do see similarities with your style and think you could be besties! Have a great week. Shush away….

LOL. An extra big thank you for passing on Jen Hatmaker's blog. I loved it too. I'm a Christian, a teacher, mom of two college students, and I rescued a dog from Glendale, California. We are all so, so similar it's scary.
