It’s Saturday!!! Happy Saturday!!! ๐
This was last Sunday night.
Last Sunday night was all footloose and carefree because we were off the next day so I made dinner.
Aren’t I the best?
Okay, it wasn’t dinner. It was an appetizer a snack, but either way you look at it, I made it. We took it out back and kicked the soccer ball around for Murphie and just basked in the glory of we do not have school or work tomorrow, we can stay up as late as we want, and we are wild party animals with our popcorn and wine.
Today, I’m feeling like the universe is slightly out of whack, what with the whole it’s only a two-day weekend this time.
Speaking of Sunday nights . . .
HAHA!
This cracked me up. I stalk follow Bethenny Frankel on Instagram and, sometimes, I don’t understand what she’s doing (or my eyes bleed from the bad words) and other times, she just gets me. This post GOT ME.
Bethenny and me —- we’re like.this. Or likethis.
Here’s my other big bulletin board. We wrote opinions on whether or not we think playing in the snow is fun. This went along with the cute craft that I blogged about last week! Even though we don’t really get snow where I live (although it did snow last year!), we are close to the mountains and every single student in my class has experienced playing in the snow.
Twenty-six out of twenty-eight students were of the opinion that it is fun to play in the snow. The other two supported their opinions with it’s too cold, my nose runs, I have to wear too many clothes, and my shoes get wet.
ALL TRUE!!!!! I don’t think I swayed them in the least.
By the way, I am really bothered that both of my bulletin boards have two empty spaces. I know it would be easy to just take two down, but I don’t want to. I measured and leveled, and I don’t want to do it again.
So I’d rather have two empty spaces even though it DRIVES ME CRAZY!
Have you seen this movie?
We wanted to rent it on Apple TV, but it wasn’t available for rent . . . so we had to buy it.
We’ve watched it three times already.
It is so good! I just love it. Robert De Niro’s character reminds me of my dad (my mom and Steve think so, too)! When I say we’ve watched it three times already, I mean we watched it the first time, and it’s been on in the background the other two times.
It’s going to become part of our rotation . . . some of our go-to movies are You’ve Got Mail, Return to Me, The Holiday, Love Actually, It’s Complicated . . . have I told you that Steve loves chick flicks???
I know. I’m lucky.
๐
Anyways, if you haven’t seen this movie, PLEASE DO SO!
And, if you have, let me know what you thought in the comments!
We are headed here today with Steve’s family! It will be our last time before our passes expire and we are not renewing. We honestly thought we would go more often, but we didn’t.
We also honestly thought being season-pass-ticket-holders would mean there would be no lines, and the park wouldn’t be crowded, and we would receive all kinds of special perks, such as Hello, Steve and Kristin, please come in, here’s a churro, you’re first in line for Cars, and we’ve reserved the two best seats for you to watch the fireworks.
I mean. Hello? We paid a lot of money and all it got us was paid parking and entrance into the park! And 10 or 15% off food or something like that, but when you eat all the food in all of Disneyland like I do, it’s not really a discount.
But I’m telling you — all it got us was parking and entrance. WHAT?
And now Disneyland raised the prices and there is just no way.
NO WAY, I said.
So now I’ll just be the poor sucker who goes once every summer with her twin, Kerry, and the rest of the family and because I will have paid over $100 ($125? $150?) to gain entry, along with parking, I will stay for sixteen hours and stand in line the whole time and IT WILL BE FUN, BY GOLLY, BECAUSE WE PAID SO MUCH!!!
Anywho, I am actually happy to be going with Steve’s family, in spite of my rant. ๐ It should be a great day, even though it might rain and be super cold.
It will be fun.
Right?!

I have a California pass for Disney and they've eliminated it for new people, but if you already have one, you're grandfathered in and can renew. It's kind of like being held hostage, really. Even if I don't want to renew, I feel like I have to because if I don't and then want a pass again, I'll have lost my window and then have to pay even more money for a less restricted pass that I really don't need because who wants to go during Christmas break or summer when every family on the planet is there? Disney is evil.

I am glad to hear The Intern is good!! I almost bought it at Target the other day and I probably just should have! Now I definitely need to see it! Happy Weekend!! ๐

Seeing this post made me realize I totally have that Polar Bear! I have to dig him out! It's currently snowing here in PA (maybe 8- 10 inches so far) and it will snow all day with the possibility of 20 or so inches… We may have a 3 day weekend! And I think making popcorn is a fabulous example of cooking!

In your empty spaces, you could write one yourself (kids love to see our writing!), and then a counter point by someone else. I have our class mascot write things sometimes…don't you have a stuffed dog or something?

I agree with Shauna. ๐
Or you could just put up some more cute clip art/decorations in those spots. ๐

I have 2 empty spots on my gallery wall/bulletin board too. I use one as a title space and the other I type up a little blurb about our activity. I even put the CCSS in the corner to make myself feel better about doing fun stuff :). I mean, my admin needs something else just for them when they come in to "visit" other than the learning targets and success criteria.

I didn't even notice the two empty spots. I had to scroll up and look for them! Also, I loved The Intern.

I think cute little clip art that goes along with whichever bear you have up at the time would be perfect in those spots, right on top of the squares like it's framed out. Voila, still perfect for when you get two new kids.

I.E. put snowflakes or some of the snowflakes you already have on there up there.

My husband loves chick flicks and lifetime T.V. also! Notting Hill is one of his favorites. So Steve is not alone by any means.

I love everything about this post. The two blank spaces look FAB! I miss popcorn, braces off in May. And can I get an amen on Bethenny's Sunday night Yoga! ?? I know what hubby and I are renting tonight, thanks for the rec! Hugs!!
