Happy Fraturday (or whatever day it is – I have lost track which is the beauty of summer vacation)!!!
On Saturday, we went to a beautiful resort called MY FRIEND’S BACKYARD. I KNOW! I’m standing in the back doorway of her house and the house that you’re looking at in the picture is the POOL HOUSE which has a family room, a small kitchen, a big bathroom, and a pool table. Everything in the pool house can get wet.
Steve and I are always in this backyard for every major BBQ’ing holiday and we will be here on the fourth of July, as well. We sit up on the outdoor fireplace to watch the local fireworks.
Oh, and Murphie is always invited, too, which is a huge bonus.
Kerry and the kids loved it.
What’s not to love? We stayed all day with swimming in the afternoon and chit chat in the evening. It was an awesome day!
On Monday, we went to Disneyland! Both of my sisters, two of my nephews, both of my nieces, and my mom and brother came. The park felt crowded but the longest we ever stood in line for a ride was forty minutes. Most others were about twenty minutes. We were also able to walk right up to food vendors which is extremely important to me. Standing in line for a churro is not okay. Obviously.
We rode a ton of rides, ate a ton of food, stayed for the new Paint the Night parade and the new fireworks show (which are absolutely AMAZING and none of us could get over it and we were all pretty much freaking out about it and I kept saying we always have to remember this and I am so thankful I’m here with my family to experience this!) and we stayed pretty much until closing.
Which means I was at Disneyland for close to 16 hours.
My feet were KILLING me, but when you think about all the food I ate, I virtually burned every calorie and was in the negative for caloric intake which meant I could eat more on Tuesday. And probably Wednesday, too.
I don’t have a picture for this one. Two friends (we teach together but it goes deeper than that), Laurie and Kristy, came over on Tuesday morning and brought Panera and Starbucks for the kids and me.
I have no idea how it all happened and how I just got to stay home and have yummy treats delivered to me, but it had something to do with I was at Disneyland until closing the night before and they also didn’t want to run into any families from school. I think. I’m not really sure.
I hosted, though, so I got out the good paper plates and napkins.

Did I already say that summer vacation is amazing?
This is the lagoon at my parents’ community pool.
It’s fairly new.
It is awesome because it’s all sandy where the dark water is
and its concrete where the light water is.
We’re in the regular pool here.
Two nieces and two nephews.
I’m in a niece and nephew sandwich.
๐
I am also hiding my body.
I’m no dummy.
Steve is out of town for the weekend so Friday was just Kerry and the kids and me. The kids got on my bed to watch the Sponge Bob movie.
I can’t tell you how happy this makes me.
๐
We are heading to my older sister’s house today for more swimming and eating and hanging out.
What are you up to?

I was at Disneyland this week too! But on Wednesday. It was pretty crowded but we went late in the day so we could see the incredible fireworks show. It was AH-mazing! I agree! And I love that lagoon, seriously, I'd be there all day! I am glad you are enjoying summer. It's the best, I wait all year for it.
Take Care,
Amanda

Well, that makes 3- I went to Disneyland Monday and Tuesday. It was super fun. My kids loved it. We normally do Disney World but we're in California for the first time in 20 years (my hubby and I were in cali after high school graduation back then). I would have waved if I had seen you. ๐

Sounds like a perfect summer week! This was my first weekend of summer and it was cold and rainy. But it can only go up from here! Enjoy!

Wow! Make that 4. My family was at Disneyland last Monday – Thursday! We love Disneyland! My son doesn't like parades or fireworks (he has Autism), but we were able to catch a small peak of the parade when we got stuck in a walkway and part of the fireworks from afar (way afar). Did you know the fireworks set off all the car alarms at the parking garage? It's true. lol
