It’s not Fraturday!
Let me explain.
I had a week of trainings. Remember? My kids are still on vacation, but the teachers have to pay back Furlough Days that are no longer on the calendar. We have to pay back nine of them.
Nine of them. I don’t remember voting on this. If we had voted on this, I’m almost one hundred percent positive that all of us would have told our district to keep their money, we like nine extra days of vacation, and it’s really not our fault that America’s schools are falling behind the rest of the world’s schools. It is called vacation and we like it.
Anywho . . . we have a lot of flexibility as to when we pay back our days. I already paid back four of them before school started. Yes, I am a do-gooder. A nerd. An overachiever.
I planned on paying back the last five and getting it over with this whole week until this whole week actually appeared on my calendar and in my life and then I decided I couldn’t face a whole week of work. I mean, the rest of the country is having snow days so surely I should sympathize, right?
So I went to two trainings on Monday and Tuesday. I am not going to talk about Monday’s training because my mama always said if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.
Tuesday’s was excellent and all about vocabulary. I have a lot to learn.
And a lot to buy on TpT. Obviously.
Wednesday I stayed home. With a cough.
It couldn’t be helped.
I went to school yesterday to prep for my week. And dig a little into vocabulary.
And then I thought about going in today, but then I couldn’t. I just couldn’t. And you wouldn’t be able to either. I have two other opportunities to pay these days back and they’re far away on the calendar and I’ll deal with them then. And that’s not procrastinating. That’s called Time Management.
So here I am. Ready for a Five for Fraturday Friday post!

Just had to say how much I love this post. I love that you make shopping lists at pottery barn to buy things at target. I love that you can't get over the artificial sweeteners. I love the cuddles as discipline. I too love "Parenthood", and I love what you are doing for Jon. While this tragedy cannot be easy for anyone, you have found a way to make a difference all while making everyone smile. I don't know you personally Kristin, but simply through "meeting" you online I have been blown away. I can't imagine a single person getting upset over what you write on your blog. Heck, if I can be half the teacher you are I'll be proud.

I loved reading that post! I am new to the blogging world (this is my first time ever linking up for 5 for Friday). I have seen many of your TPT products being put to use by the kindergarten teacher at my school. I have never checked out your blog until today and I must say I LOVE they way you write…so funny! I can totally relate to how you feel about the parents seeing your blog…I am new to blogging, but I am not new to social media and I am always nervous that something I have written will be taken the wrong way! By the way, I think what you are doing for your student is wonderful.

It does take a lot of guts to 'out' your blog to your own community, but I hope it was well worth it! I love your blog and TPT materials. Good luck with the rest of the fundraiser!

Love your sense of humor and your posts ๐ haha your creamer story cracked me up because I experienced the same thing this week and literally JUST called my husband on his way home from work asking him to pick me up a new thing of Coffeemate Peppermint Mocha creamer (my addiction and the only one I like!) HAHA ๐ I totally understand about parents seeing your blog. A few of mine found out last year and it always made me nervous, but then I remembered who I am and that I love their children and they know that! I am sure all of your parents feel the same way about you and know it is all out of love! You are a wonderful person and teacher and anyone is blessed to have a glimpse into your life! (filled with posts about your GOOD fashion sense, amazing love of wine, TV shows, and interesting mammogram posts!) Haha! Happy Friday.. enjoy your weekend! And book for 9 furlough days, WHAT the heck?! That's insane. Good luck with the fundraiser!

I HATE when parents find my blog. I force myself to believe that because they aren't teachers they'll get bored and stop stalking me.

You are so brave. It is absolutely heartwarming how you are stepping outside of your anonymous comfort zone to help out a student. You are just in the perfect position to help Jon and his family now.
I hope that my boys have teachers as caring and fun and real as you. (And I am sure that the parents who find you will "get" your sense of humor. It is the reason we all come here to read your posts. ๐

I agree completely. My own boys would be LUCKY and BLESSED to have a teacher like you. Anybody who "knows" you would know you would NEVER do anything to intentionally offend anybody. Keep doing what you do and know that God has your back! And so do we!!! lol

All your good shows through…and I know parents will love you as much as the rest of us!

I am sure your blog will only endear you more to your little ones' parents. I always look forward to reading your posts. You make me laugh and that's what it's all about!
Carolyn Kisloski says
All you need to worry about if parents find your blog is that your class will be SO PACKED full of requests that you will need to clone yourself because everyone will get to know and love you like we all do. That being said, I totally get exactly what you said about being "outed." You are amazing.
