What a week!
The hubby’s family and my family are both here from out of state. Time is going by way too fast and I do not understand it because I haven’t even had any couch or PJ time. Although I think I’m making a sizable dent in my mom’s couch and it’s quite possible that I have slept in the gym shorts and t-shirt I’m currently wearing. But that’s neither here nor there because I’m surrounded by family whilst doing this. So it doesn’t really count as couch and PJ time.
My nieces and nephews — how adorable are they? It is killing me that they are growing up. I can’t stand it.
It’s nice to know I’m not getting any older, though. I’m not. I know I don’t act like it, at least.
After we took several pics, my parents came out and things got a little weird . . .
You can’t see one nephew in this pic because he was behind the rock trying to climb on. I think. I don’t know. I was just snapping and caught this.
I’m titling it: My Family Is Nuts And That’s How I Turned Out This Way – If I’m Okay With It, You Should Be, Too
We went to Knott’s Berry Farm on Wednesday. The hubby and I mixed our families up and hoped for the best.
In attendance:
The hubby and me.
My twin sister.
My nephews (one 8 year old and one 10 year old).
My 12 year old niece.
The hubby’s mom.
The hubby’s sister.
The hubby’s nephews (one 8 year old and one 10 year old)
The hubby’s cousin (13 years old).
That’s 11 people in case you were wondering and each kid had a partner kid! It was a great day! I can’t even explain it. The park was not crowded at all and everyone got along. It was seriously the best day.
Except for the awful, scary, terrifying, twisty, UNSAFE roller coaster rides that I was barely tall enough to ride in the first place, but my ego got in the way and I acted like they were no big deal EXCEPT THEY WERE.
Do not go to Knott’s Berry Farm if your favorite ride at Disneyland is It’s a Small World.
There is no comparison. It doesn’t even translate.
I convinced my niece to ride Ghost Rider with me because it was a wooden roller coaster and it had no loops and I thought how bad can it be? I mean, it’s wooden. It’s not like it can go fast.
I told her the tears were from laughing so hard.
Not.
At the end of the day, my nephews asked me what my favorite ride was and I said it was a toss up between The Wild Wild West Show and The Funnel Cake.
We decided we all needed an Icee and right after that, we all decided that we should go to the bathroom.
We didn’t think about going to the bathroom first and then getting an Icee because, I don’t know if you already figured this out yet or not, we are tho thmart.
My husband guarded our drinks and my nephew was his assistant.
I’m happy to report all drinks were returned to their rightful owners.
I’m working on a new pack and I’m almost finished with the August set! I don’t even know how considering I’m surrounded by all these people from Texas and North Carolina and South Carolina and Tennessee! (Okay, sometimes, when you have visitors, the visitors get on their phones and other electronic paraphernalia which gives me a chance to jump on my laptop and act like I am a Very Important Person with a Very Important Virtual Life.) When I purged my files, I found some old mini books I had made a long time ago and I was inspired to differentiate them. My kids love these mini books — and the best part is that you just have to fold them twice! THAT’S IT! JUST FOLD. NO cutting or collating!
My upper grade helpers fold them for me in the beginning of the year and towards the end of the year, my kids can do it on their own.
I hope to have this up on TpT very soon!
However, it probably won’t be this weekend because . . .
I’m getting ready to board a plane for a long weekend! I’m going with my twin, her kids, and my parents. We’re meeting my brother-in-law there who is flying in from Hong Kong on business.
My hubby has to stay back because his family is still here and they are having a big ole reunion. I hate to miss it . . . but I think I’ll live.

I really love this "Do not go to Knott's Berry Farm if your favorite ride at Disneyland is It's a Small World." Have fun in SF. I love it there!

Yeah KBF has some seriously inappropriate rides, lol. But the chicken dinner more than makes up for it. And berry punch concentrate to take home and mix with soda water. Deelish!!!

I've been to Disneyland just once (it's a long way from Australia!) but my favourite ride was 'Alice in Wonderland'. ๐
Have a lovely weekend!

Well my favorite ride at Disneyland is "It's a small world", so I guess I will not plan a trip to Knott's Berry Farm…lol. My boys like Magic Mountain anyway. They talked me into going on the Colossal, a wooden roller coaster, a few years back…I was kind of thinking like you how bad can it be…well I about flew up out of the seat when it dropped down. Needless to say I just watch them now. With the 3 boys and the hubby, it is uneven, so I sacrifice and wait on the ground for everyone. Have a great weekend in San Fran!
