Happy Sunday!
We had a great time at the birthday party yesterday . . . and the Taco Man was there! Do you know the Taco Man? He brings all of his stuff to your house, sets it up outside, cooks, serves, and then packs it all up and leaves. He is a genius, I tell you. I used to say I didn’t like Mexican food, but I am actually starting to crave it. The hubs is over the moon about this, and I’m sure Kerry is, too. And my mom. And Lisa. These are all the people in my family who say Mexican food is their favorite type of food.
Well, wait. I want it on the record that I have always liked chips and salsa, and chips and queso, and chips and salt, and chips and ranch. Washing any of those combinations down with a margarita makes it a complete Mexican meal, rather than just a snack, I might add.
But now I’m starting to crave tacos. And burritos.
So when we got home from the birthday party and napped (the hubby) and worked (me), we decided we needed some more tacos a la Taco Bell.
I know. I am sick.
But they were delicious.
Today, we are headed to my parent’s house for lasagna and some good ole fashioned family time. And then, tomorrow, I start parent conferences with a huge SHE-BANG. I have 30 kids. And I have 16 conferences tomorrow. Granted, we have a minimum day, but I do not see any bathroom breaks in my future and/or gasps for air.
Anywho . . . I can’t think of a good segue here so I’m just gonna go with hello there, I finished my Reader’s Theater – Partner Plays for Beginning Readers {Fall Edition} Can This Title Get Any Longer Because I’d Like to Try pack!
Yay! I’m so excited! I was able to print out 5 last week and give my kids a sneak peek. They were dying! We are ready for some new stuff and this pack is filled with pumpkins, spiders, bats, squirrels, owls, scarecrows, turkeys, and a couple of mummies and witches, but in such a non-threatening way that you hardly even notice them, and shouldn’t get into any trouble whatsoever if you are not allowed to celebrate that holiday at your school.
We are allowed. Sort of. But we don’t dress up. Unless you call the Snoopy-Dressed-As-A-Mummy T-shirt that I just scored at Target for $10 And My Converse dressed up. I call it dressy casual, but you say potato and I say french fry, please.
Love them!!!!! And yes, she def needs a taco!!
Oh my gosh! I am so excited for these! My kids are obsessed with the beginning reader plays. Good luck with conferences!

Kristin you totally CRACK me up! I love reading your blog for the pure entertainment value (not to mention the wonderful ideas that you share and I "steal"). Often when I read one of your posts I end up laughing out loud which usually disturbs my husband some way and requires me to reread your post aloud! He's not a teacher but also thinks you're pretty hysterical! So thank you for always brightening my day and for sharing your experiences and ideas! I appreciate you and hope you survive tomorrow! 16 conferences? How is the world are you going to swing that even without bathroom breaks? I'm curious, how long are each of your conferences?
I forgot to leave my email: jrmalak@ gmail.com
You are so sweet!!!
Our conferences are 20 min each. So I am starting at 7:20 and I can get 4 done before school starts at 8:45. And then we are out at 12:30 . . . I have the first one of the afternoon at 12:40 and go up to 5:00. It will be CRAZY! π
Tacos yum! Readers theatre is adorable again!!! autismabc123@gmail.com

My kids love these too and with your infamous (um, famous) organization technique they are super easy to set up as well. I hate setting up anything which may be why my kids never have centers except read to self, write to self and meet with me. π

I need to get me a Taco Man who cleans up after himself? Love your readers theater. Good luck tomorrow! I think a trip to Taco Bell drive thru is worth considering after 16 conferences !
Katie goldbc90@verizon.net
I LOVE your Readers Theater Packs! And so do my kiddos. And I love chips and salsa. But have you ever tried them with bean dip (or just refried beans with cheese melted on top)? And seasoned sour cream? They are lovely. And might be my dinner tonight now that you've had me thinking about them. Best of luck with your conferences–I actually prefer to go "she-bang", as you say, I think it makes the day go sooooo much faster than my final day of conferences this fall: one at 8:30, one at 11:00 and one at 2:30. On a Friday. Thanks for the chance!
