So . . . yesterday I was extremely productive.

And . . . today, well, notsomuch.  Unless you count sleeping in (thanks to ONE Advil PM and that is all, I am not addicted, it was necessary, I think my back or my leg or maybe my big toe or one eyelid was hurting, and I only took ONE so don’t look at me like that) and having pancakes and watching twelve or thirteen episodes in a row of Mixology, productive.

Yesterday, I finished up my new Reader’s Theater pack, as well as another pack.

I know.  I’m telling you, yesterday, I was a MACHINE.  A machine that sits on the couch and intermittently works on a new creative outlet for the classroom AND checks Facebook and email and Instagram and all other manner of social media that I did not need to worry about, but I did anyway.

I am so excited for this sale and I have a ton of stuff in my cart.  It makes heading back for real, as in, Teachers Report This Wednesday And Kids Come Next Monday, pretty tolerable.  I love new stuff.  I love ink.  I love printing.  I love laminating.
I hate cutting out laminate unless I’m in the mood.  Sometimes I’m in the mood and it is therapeutic for me and if I had a therapist, I’m sure he or she would recommend it to me.  By the way, I almost minored in Psychology.  
What?
I did.  Really.
So . . . the other thing I did yesterday was finish my Alphabet Pinning pack.  I asked which version might be best on my FB page and I got mixed reviews.  So I just went ahead and put them both into the same pack.

Students can either practice pinning the letter and the matching picture OR practice pinning the letter and distinguishing between two pictures to find the matching beginning sound.  
I cannot wait to use this with my incoming first graders as a review and/or as a quick assessment.  Plus, I think it will be great for centers — it is such a QUIET center!!!!  I am not kidding.  Pinning means QUIET CHILDREN.  I cannot explain it.  I have attempted to before, but you will just have to see for yourself.
Anywho, tomorrow I get my class list.
My CLASS LIST.  I love getting my class list.  
And it is not nerdy at all to look up each child in the yearbook and memorize their cute little faces and names so that I know who they are before they walk in the door.  It has nothing to do with the fact that I am childless and have the time to do this, either.  I have heard that other teachers do this, as well.  It is also neither here nor there that I have been praying for each little person on my list.  That is completely normal.
I mean, I pray all the time.  ALL THE TIME.  So it’s completely normal.  Seriously.
Really.
I’m not kidding.
Well.
I better get back to my Doing Nothing At All Today.  
Wouldn’t want to get too off track of my agenda . . .

    Yipeeee! I am super excited to win your reader's theaters Kristin! I've already printed them and will get them cut out and glued tonight….and tomorrow…LAMINATE! YES!! I agree about cutting out! I used to be able to talk my husband and children into helping…they refuse to do it now! I guess cutting out lamination to them is like laundry (and cutting out lamination) to me! Have a great start to your year! Thanks again!!

    Why have I never thought to look my kiddos up in the yearbook? Quick question- do you know when you'll be doing your next blog post about the gold tags? I bought my yellow construction paper yesterday and am all ready to learn! 🙂

    I love that you pray for your little people… Every morning before my little ones arrive I sit in each one of their seats and pray for them. I am convinced it makes all the difference in their day and mine!

    It is a great effort by you for your classroom which is very appreciate able and i think it is a busy job for you but it's god for you to get busy pay to write research paper with the children's and their work which is very interesting and helpful for the children's they will learn lot of things which is good for them to do.
