Well, people, we’re getting down to the end. And I’m starting to see snippets of The Bachelor Pad . . . not to mention, Big Brother starts this Thursday!!! Who’s with me??? ๐
This week, Emily and the boys were in Curacao — I had no idea it was pronounced like that. Like, at all. I think I may have been saying some sort of cocoa word. Oops.
Once again, we started the episode off with reviewing the men Emily has left. We JUST did this, but I guess they didn’t have enough film to fill the two hour time slot. This week, they changed the order. Keeping it fresh, I guess. I reallyreallyreally wanted to fast forward, but I hung in there for you guys.
1. Sean. My personal favorite, but I won’t try to talk you into him. To each his own. And seeing as how I have my own husband, I guess I don’t need him either.
2. Jef. One of the commenters on my blog said in a previous post that they didn’t like Jef’s hair (anyone thinking Ben????) and that he needed another “f” in his name. Ha! So true. Although, I once dated a Gregg, and my older sister was dating a Todd, and we would always say “GregGIGUH” and “TodDIDUH” because it’s kind of redundant to have those extra letters. (And once, when my older sister and I drove from California to Minnesota, we wrote their names on our arms like tattoos. Because we were young. And stupid. And later on that same trip, I was kicked off an airplane for impersonating a marine. Yep. I think I’ve mentioned that before, but I’ve never told you the whole story.) At any rate, maybe Jef is onto something.
3. Arie. Emily kept saying how much she liked his “usefulness” and that he brought out the “usefulness” in her. Which got me thinking. I wonder if my husband thinks I’m useful? I am when I do the laundry. And when I give Sydney her pills. That’s pretty useful.
Then I realized she was saying “youthfulness”. And, sadly, I’ve got none of that.
Up first: Sean
They went in a helicopter but I was okay with it. I hope you weren’t watching and thinking that I was ill or anything. It hasn’t been overdone this season so I could take it. Plus the headphones didn’t mess up Sean’s hair because he has NORMAL hair.
The helicopter did take them to a private island. I’m pretty sure Brad and Emily did that, too . . . but, that’s not weird or anything.
They had some deep talk and then Sean finally took his shirt off.
Later at dinner, Sean wrote a letter to Ricki.
I swooned.
Not really. But I did have a little intake of breath and felt the need to kiss the TV. But I didn’t because no one dusts around here.
Fantasy Suite Card. Well, we all know that some of you people have told me that disgusting things happen in that Fantasy Suite. Which I choose not to believe because if I was the bachelorette or dating the bachelor, I would say yes to the suite so that I could stay up late and keep talking. Not to do other things. No way.
And then Sean pretty much read my mind and said the exact same thing.
But Emily kicked him out, anyway.
Up next: Jef
Boat trip. Balance. Some sort of talk about a painting becoming a masterpiece or something. I don’t know. Lots of hair blowing in the wind. Then there was a lot of jumping, diving, swimming, paddling . . . Blue Lagoon type stuff.
Fantasy Suite Card – Jef takes the gentlemanly way out and turns her down . . . but I don’t know. I didn’t really believe it. I think he’s playing the game. Or maybe he just forgot to bring his hair products and was worried about how his hair would look the next day.
Last one: Arie
He got right to kissing her, as he usually does. Does he know anything about her? I don’t think he ever gives her a chance to talk or come up for air. She might get asthma if he’s not careful.
They got to swim with dolphins in the ocean. Emily was a little scared . . . which I get. And then Arie told us how perfect everything is when they are together. Perfect? I guess so. You’re in Curacao. In the ocean. Swimming with dolphins. I guess if you like that sort of thing, you could call it perfect.
Emily likes Arie. A lot. So much so that she is not even going to give him the Fantasy Suite card. She says she can’t trust herself. Say what?
Rose Ceremony: Emily was a little bit emotional. I don’t blame her. She’s been very strong through this whole ordeal of dating 25 guys and traveling the world and getting paid for it . . . I figured she would crack eventually.
{I am not a fashionista by any means whatsoever, but I was not a fan of Emily’s gray tanktop paired with a sparkly long skirt. Casual on top and fancy on the bottom? Sort of like business in the front and party in the back with a twist? Or was it a one piece situation? Should I be into this? Is this a good outfit for the first day of school or back to school night? Help, please.}
Well, folks, Jef got a rose.
And so did Arie.
And while I’m heartbroken, all I can say is that I think we all know who the next bachelor is going to be. Am I right or am I right? Where do I sign the petition, people???
Poor guy.
Arie and Jef???? ARIE AND JEF????
Anyways, Sean was wonderful. He was very sweet to Emily. He didn’t act like Chris. He did not swear or put down the other two guys . . . he was so sweet. Was I the only one who wanted to hug him?????
I felt blue. ๐
But then I got over it because next week The Guys Tell All.
I cannot wait. Ryan. Kalon. Drama. Yes, please.

I was so shocked when Emily dumped Sean! Seriously, he was the perfect guy – so nice, so sweet, so adorable. You are so right, and he definitely should be the next bachelor!!

I love it! You make me laugh so hard. I am really sad that Sean left too. Now I'm hoping that Jef is the last man standing. I don't like his hair or the miss "f" either, but something about Arie just makes me nervous.
Thanks for the great update!

I don't know.. you first got me to WATCH tv…. which my hubby thinks is unbelievable that I would sit still so long AND pay attention. I like Sean but then he was just too perfect. I think he is hiding something somewhere. I don't trust it. Arie is simply a toy nothing more. Jef (not his hair) won me over on the family trip. I think he has a good balance and they have chemistry. The hair has got to go though. I will miss Sean's muscles.

I'm right with you there on Sean being the next bachelor!!! I was just hoping he wasn't going to start crying like all the rest of the guys that got kicked off (and thank goodness he didn't!!) I felt bad for him too! And now you'll have to share your story about being kicked off the plane! ๐

Yes, I am heartbroken over Sean.
Yes, he should be the next bachelor.
And, yes, Back to School night, definitely!

1) I loved Sean too! And his family!
2) Also did you notice that Chris Harrison and Arie wore matching outfits at the rose ceremony?
3) Have you heard the Chris Harrison/Emily rumors?
4) Before your blog I did NOT watch, or even look forward to, this show!

I completely agree that Sean will be the next bachelor – or the next, next bachelor if Roberto decides to do it….both of which are yummy ๐
I think it's been Arie since the beginning – and don't you think when she told Chris she knows who it's going to be in the end but she's not ready to say goodbye to the other two – that she meant she knows who she's going to pick???

Sean was also my favorite. By far. BUT really Emily got it down to three great guys and after that it is a matter of taste. I would have voted for Sean, but since this isn't American Idol, Emily gets to pick.
Thank you for the great recap (as always)!!!

Guess what? Up until a couple years ago, "one-F Jef" was "two-F Jeff". He changed it to distinguish himself. As in now people talk a lot about why he only has one F in his name. Sean? Gorgeous, but I never saw a ton of chemistry. Arie? All they do is make out. Which is great until you've got a 6 year old hanging out with you all the time. And I didn't like his story about how you start out being your step-daughters friend and let things progress from there. My very first year teaching I wanted to be my students' friend. Let's just say half way through the year I started over. Jef can be cheesy but I still love him!

I'll sign the petition for Sean. I generally like tall, dark haired men if we are just talking looks, but Sean grew on me. He was my favorite, too.
Love your recaps!

Okay, this is my second time to comment on this post. But since I followed my typical pattern (1. Read Kristin's wonderful summary 2. Watch the episode for myself), I just finished watching last night's episode and … I liked Sean even more. So I have written my own ending: Emily brings Arie and Jef home to meet her family and then goes on the final dates. In the midst of this, she comes to her senses. Yes, Arie is great to kiss and yes, Jef brings our her youthfulness (I could have sworn she was saying usefulness, also), but there is something missing. Her heart longs for …SEAN!!! So she invites Sean to come back and he proposes and she says yes and they live happily ever after. Just wait and see. I may be right, you know!!!

I am totally ready for Big Brother also! I wish she would have picked Sean,
I think they had a good thing. Is next weeks show on Sunday? I thought I heard that on the previews.

YOU got kicked off a plane? Spill it.
Can't wait for Big Brother.
The whole Sean things was heartbreaking.
LOL… I'd kiss the TV, but no one dusts around here!!!!! ๐

I feel like Sean didn't get a rose because he never let Emily know how he truly felt. PLUS, his sister made it sound like he was "pals" with his girlfriends and didn't like holding hands on acting romantically towards them. So I get it…
