I am still in a little bit of awe over how many people entered the giveaway. I feel the love. π And I totally get it. It’s a chance to win some great stuff from some of your favorite bloggers! π π π
So . . . here are the lucky winners!
Congratulations!! Be on the lookout, girls!!
In the meantime, I made some birthday cover-up cards for my calendar. I usually buy a pack at the teacher store, but I decided to make some. So if you’d like your own, just click the pic. {This is what happens when I try to use google docs. People have trouble. So I went back to Scribd. Hopefully no one has any issues! So sorry about that! You should be able to download now.) I made five different kinds – birthday boy, birthday girl, present, birthday hat, and a cupcake. I am not going to laminate these for myself. I’m just printing them on cardstock, writing the kid’s name on it, and slapping it up on the calendar when the time comes. As it is, I have no clue who will be in my class next year, but I’m just getting prepared. You know me. A busy bee.
Thanks for all the advice on how to get Sydney to take her medicine.
Number One – the hubby can no longer give it to her. Not because I love and enjoy it so much that I must be the one to do this wonderful task, oh no. But because Sydney runs in the other direction whenever he tries. I truly believe she may need therapy due to the trauma he has caused her, but unless she starts working for a living, it’s not happening. So that leaves me.
Number Two – I am too lazy to drive somewhere for one item. And since Petco does not carry my deodorant and/or assorted snack must-haves, I just went to the grocery store to look for those pill pocket things. No luck. But I grabbed something that appeared as if it was a pill pocket.
It wasn’t.
But Sydney loves them.
So I just got some canned dog food and it’s working like a charm! I only give her enough to mask the pills. So one can has lasted through five doses. I think that’s pretty good.
There’s only one problem. Now she’d rather have canned dog food than any kind of treat. I have created a monster. But she’s a cute little monster. And I wuv her.
I started working on my to-do list. And do you know what the biggest problem is? I can’t finish anything. Because I don’t have everything I need. I’ll start something . . . maybe pages for the Birthday Journal, let’s say, and then I realize that the binder from last year is falling apart. And has orange juice on it. And some other type of sticky substance. And I didn’t put it there. It came back to me like that from someone’s house. At least they eat breakfast, right? So I need a new binder. But that requires getting dressed and that’s not happening at the moment. So instead of crossing off Birthday Journal from my list, I just find a True Life marathon on the TV and call it quits.
This is going to bite me later. I know.
Our beagle, Shiloh, has been woe since we came back from Alaska. He spent nine days with my in-laws and their beautiful dog Sally. I think he is love sick….any ideas?!
We received our marching orders to mail welcome letters and supply lists within a week. I need to start a to-do list and stop playing on Pinterest!
Oh! Have you seen the social editions of RHONJ? HI-LARIOUS! I might jump in on that Twitter action! There is just so much to say!

Well I keep spreading out the school stuff I brought home, shuffle it around, make a list and then pack it all up !! My new Jennifer Weiner book is much more interesting……
Here's a suggestion for puppy pill giving. My family has used vienna sausages for years! depending on the size of the pill, you can use just half of one or a whole one. Push the pill into one side and give that loving pooch a small treat! It's like using the can food because it's masked inside, but it's much smaller and one a day wouldn't be that bad. Makes a great treat for practicing tricks ro commands, too. Hope that helps!

Hi Kristin,
I would love a copy of your birthday calendar cover ups but I am having problems printing it. I get this message in google docs – "Some text and formatting may not have been recognised." Some of the cover ups do not appear. I wonder if you could put them in your store. It may download or print more easily there.
Thanks,
Linda
I feel like I can't finish anything lately either. I'm glad that you figured out how to get Sydney to take her meds! Thanks for the cute birthday cover up cards. π

Learning Is Something to Treasure
I feel terrible: I haven't even made a list of things to do! I am going to ignore it all until August. Is that wrong?
I have accomplished nothing thus far except laying on the couch, napping, and watching TV. I discovered MTV 2 has Old School Afternoons and they show Saved by the Bell and Boy Meets World. I'm not even up to date on my blog stalking. I just don't really care to do a lot. That'll change soon I'm sure but I'm totally with you.

I can't finish stuff either. Actually, I'm having trouble STARTING projects that need to be done before summer's over! See, it's not just you!

Cheap no name hot dogs…easy, homemade "pill pocket" that you can get where you get deodorant and other assorted snacks. Slice the package up into small bite size pieces and put in a ziplock in the fridge. Presto!
