Three Day Weekend! No Sunday Night Blues! School’s out in TWO AND A HALF DAYS!
It doesn’t matter that I spent most of yesterday obsessing over the music to add to my slideshow. I can literally check myself into the looney bin because I drive myself crazy over this stuff. If you’re looking for a good list of music to sift through, Cara at the First Grade Parade (I’m saying that casually, but I know you know who Cara is) just posted some good ones. I tend to have happy songs throughout most of my slideshow and then I zap the parents in the end with a tear jerker. They never know what hit them and then they’re asking me for tissue. BAM!
Anywho, today we are off to our old neighbor’s house. They used to live right exactly next door, but then they moved a mile away. It killed me. But I’m over it now because their backyard is gigantic and when we go over there, it is as if we are on vacation at a luxury hotel. I’m not kidding. I’ll ask permission to take some pics today and show you!!
But going over there means wearing a swimsuit.
UGH.
I spent the other part of yesterday on the hunt for a new swimsuit.
I told the hubby that I wished I could say, “I’m going to look for a new swimsuit or three today!” all sing songy and happy and elated and all that crap. Instead, I said, “I’ve got to try to find a swimsuit that hides my whole body,” all grumpity and disgusted and frustrated.
And yes, I get that this blog is called A Teeny Tiny Teacher. And I am small. I know. I’m petite and little. I am the size of a fifth grader. Some days, I am the size of a third grader because it seems as if kids are coming out bigger or something these days.
However, I am an OLD Teeny Tiny Teacher. And I have jiggles and wiggles.
For example, after I jump up and down, or hop, or jog from here to the wine fridge, or do any kind of activity that does not require standing still, my jiggles and wiggles keep on moving. My body stops, but other things, mainly my lower half, continue to move for moments long afterward.
This phenomenon has also started with my arms. I wave or call someone over and what do you know? My upside-down bicep feels the need to wave, as well.
I ended up finding a suit at Old Navy. It will work. But it does not cover my whole body. I had the darndest time finding a swimsuit made out of a hoodie and pajama pants.
However, there is a silver lining to all of this.
It is cloudy. And the high today is only 73. So rather than wearing my suit over there, I shall be wearing jeans and a hoodie. My swimsuit will be in a bag. And I will just be too cold to put it on. I am teeny tiny, you know.
Shiver shiver.

You are so right. And when you are teeny tiny everyone gets grouchy when you whine about your jiggles. It's like they think that wearing petite clothes means that you don't have to fight every pound. I keep trying to explain to them that it really means that the 1 lb bag of Reese's that I just ate has to be smashed into a smaller number of inches. Ughh… glad you found a suit that will work. I'm scared to try mine on.

Hee Hee, I always say if I wave too hard my underside arm will hit me in the face. Have fun today, we haven't been in the seventies for a couple of weeks. It is 60's all next week as well.

73 degrees too cold? Mother Nature has her seasons messed up here in CT – 90 and humid last week, high of 48 yesterday – rainy and windy!!! Fine with me though – I'm in no hurry to put on a suit either! Those swinging triceps have caught up to me as well ๐ ~ Lisa

A few years back my k class did an inspiring farewell song to teachers leaving, it involved dramatic, outstretched arm action. I was on the sides of course, leading the actions. After , my daughter ( who was there helping me) observed " Mom, your arms really jiggle when you do that ", with a bit of horror mixed with a tinge of disgust. I had no idea !!! And i did it in front of the whole school !! Sorry you jiggle but relieved to know it happens even to teeny, tiny people ๐

Love this. That is my excuse for why I do not workout. I don't like how everything jiggles when I am jumping and running. So it's just easier to NOT workout! Ha!

Be thankful you're not tall- then the jiggling is more out there for all to see, and the arms and legs are longer, allowing for more jiggle. Also, 73 sounds heavenly- in Upper Michigan, we still have snow in them thar hills, and the kids are wearing tank tops and swearing they're all sweaty when it's 63.

My slide show ends with Let Them Be Little. I start that song with their baby pictures and end with their cap and gown shots. Gets them EVERY time!!!! I teach Pre-K and love making that video.

You are cracking me up…but SO true! I am also tiny but that doesn't seem mean I don't have jiggles!!!! I am also working on my end of the year slide show…thanks for pointing me in the right direction for music!

I feel your pain! I too am a teeny tiny teacher (My 4th grader is still shorter than me, but that is because she is teeny tiny like me). I think I am the size of a 3rd/4th grader..depending on the kid. Sigh..I do not understand how people don't get that the smaller you are the LESS food you can enjoy because you have nowhere to store said food! I love your blog! It is hugely inspiring to even the teeniest teachers!

LOL! I have a few jiggles and wiggles of my own. Sadly, you have just reminded me of my need to purchase a swimsuit. Sigh.
