Do You Want $100?

Happy Saturday.  Sort of.

It is officially the Saturday before school starts.  I still feel like I have a million things to do, even though I’m pretty darn sure I’ve already crossed two million things off of my list.  Every time I do something or make something or ruin something, I think, “I need to blog about that.”  And then I come home and cut laminate and print labels and use my paper trimmer until my muscles are sore. 

More on that later.

Let’s focus on the positives in my life, shall we?

Here’s a major happy:  School Outfitters sent me $100 to spend.  Why little ole me?

I don’t know.  I have no clue.

And I didn’t ask questions.  I got busy shopping.  

I instantly ordered more stools.  You know.  The stools I blogged about it already because I was over the moon about them.  Well, I ordered more for my guided reading table.

They already arrived and here they are in action just waiting to be sat upon by little first graders ready to read and pay attention and stay focused because their teacher is going to be so rejuvenated and on fire that she will, well, be just simply freaking amazing, don’t ya know.

I love how lightweight these stools are and how they just tuck under the table so nicely!  My old school chairs always got tangled up and made way too much noise because they didn’t fit.  I love how the stools save space, especially since I can have up to 32 kiddos.  (Still holding steady at 30 and still holding my breath.)

I saw these last year at a Common Core training and I was jealousjealousjealous and didn’t really hear anything about how the teacher used them because I was trying to think of ways in which to sneak off with one of them in such a way that it didn’t come off as stealing so much as sharing with a needy teacher.
Well, now I own a set!  Hahaha!  Now people can be jealous of ME!  Haha!  
But I mean real, actual people in my real life.
As far as all of you virtual people, I don’t want you to be jealous.

    Thank you for hosting this fabulous giveaway! I love those stools and have been contemplating getting some for my computers. I can't believe you can have 32 kids. Our cap is 22 (24 on a waiver). Our 5th grade teachers had a hard time this year with 28 kids in a class. I can't even imagine how 32 kids would fit in our little classrooms.

    I don't know what I would do if I had 30 or more Firsties again! It's been a looooong time since I taught in California where classes of 32 were the norm. I think we're at 16 in our classes in right now. The year we had 18 or 19 in our classes, the district made us add another class. Which was weird since there were other schools in our district that had larger (20 or so) classes.

    Those stools for my guided reading table is a great idea! I would definitely buy those. Good luck tackling that list. I know my list just gets longer as school gets closer, even when I cross things off.

    I love your blog and just took your freebie for the reader's theater to try. I have been wanting to do this but couldn't find any easy ones to start with. Thank you. I have also wanted those ten frames too. I tried making them by laminating and using popsicle sticks but the sticks keep popping off. Best Wishes for the new year!
