For Hire

Well, today just flew by and we were flexible with our schedule because I was working on district assessments, and it was our Computer Lab day, and my one student that has been on crutches and in a cast from his toe to mid-thigh since the first day of school came in late from a doctor’s appointment with his own leg, and it was naked, and we all had to scream and shout and clap.

Yep.

That’s why centers were pushed to the end of the day. And it might be why our stamina/I’ll give you a starburst if you’re really quiet didn’t go so well.

But that’s life, people. And tomorrow is a new day and I’m going to let the Lord worry about that one. As for tonight, I’m going to eat a chicken caesar salad from El Pollo Loco and we are all going to pretend it’s healthy. Okay? Good.

My friend, Lauren, put up some pics on her blog from the Salsa party. Although she didn’t call it a Salsa party. I did.

Oh? Did I forget to tell you? She’s gorgeous. And she’s into fashion and crafting and party planning.

I know. I don’t get her kind either. But she blogs all about it so that’s where we’re both in the middle on a Venn Diagram. We blog. We are bloggers. We have become real life friends with virtual friends. You know. We’re bloggers.

I know. I still don’t get it.

And whereas a company might send me a laminator or bulletin board products, Lauren is sent Chinet paper goods, and real live actual money, and told to have a party.

Let’s get real. In the big picture, when I am sent a laminator or bulletin board products, I feel like throwing a party so it’s practically the same thing.

Is it just me or did I miss my calling as a photographer?

Take, for example, this picture I took today on my iPhone.

Yep. With my iPhone! See how the background is kind of blurry and out of focus and all photography-like?

Well, I took this pic because my partner wanted to know if that caterpillar was real.

The plant is real. I watered it this morning, as a matter of fact. But the caterpillar was brand new. I’d never seen it before.

So, to be sure, I poked it with a pencil and jumped back ten feet, just in case the caterpillar had a chromosome mutation and would grow to gigantic proportions and/or be filled with fuel and come at me all turbo-charged and cling to my neck or my face or my hair.

What? It could happen.

Well, it didn’t move. It’s just a weird part of the plant and I’m sure someone can leave me a comment with the proper term.

The whole point is that I’m now a professional photographer and I do weddings, too.

Probably not babies because they don’t like to cooperate, but I’m pretty much for hire.
